---My supermoto was kickstart only. I enjoyed the simplicity, and it pretty much always started on the 1st or 2nd kick, but if it wanted to act up, it always did it in the middle of a crowded parking lot and I was left jumping around on the thing for 5 minutes looking like I was nuts,---
after fixing and riding jap bikes with four carbs i learned that when they refuse to start, it's generally because they aren't getting enough gas (especially since they run lean from the factory) so i carried a can of ether with me everywhere. worked like a charm. |

@ Buelliedan:
does that bike that your wife rides have to have that big, flat headlight to qualify for that class? can't you use something more aerodynamic? at 167mph that will create a lot of drag. |

OR FLOODED!!!!
Maybe syncing the carbs would have helped..... seems like your in the same crowd you are complaining about, not knowing a DANM thing about motorcycles!!!

Take a breath, guys.
Glad you narrowed it down to the pump. Hopefully the regulator is good on your existing one. I don’t think most of the aftermarket ones come with that. |

Hoot: i'm trying to get this thread back on track but it doesn't take much to get their liberal panties in a knot. i think that they're jealous of my $450.00 firebolt, which btw will be ON THE ROAD as soon as i get my fuel pump. oh, i forgot about the regulator. i should get one of those while i've got the thing apart.

If there's nothing wrong with it, I wouldn't bother. From what I've read here, the regulator fails when the pump fails from exposure to bad gas (high ethanol content, or whatever) and gets all gummy. If it just failed electrically, the regulator might be OK. |
