Not a special size but you do need a slot cut in the side to get around the wires. It is just a 1/2" deep socket

If you have some tube wrenches like this,
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tap-Repair-Spanners-Box-H ex-Square-Tube-Tubular-Socket-Wrench-Plumbing-Tool -/200918683320
then there is no need for a special tool or cutting one up.

There was someone who mentioned that Proto has a socket with the slot cut in it with a part number. Maybe I'll check with Proto.

Try ironmachine.com. $19.95 for the socket.

Or, get a deepwell socket of the correct size from the auto tool section at the grocery store and cut a 1/8" by 1 3/4" long groove in it.

When you get in there, don't forget to blow the well out with an air chuck to get debris out before removing the old one.

Hope this helps, Dave
