I'm trying to get an idea of how many of you want to go to the AMA Grand National races in Springfield, Memorial Day weekend. We have a limited number of discount tickets available and I'd like to know how many to put aside for the Chapter guys? Let me know, Sam

Here's the story on Windy City BRAG Chapter Brunch Run to Starved Rock this Sunday, May 16.

So far we have around 11 bikes, some riding two-up.

Weather report looks absolutely great right now.

Reserved Brunch seating for our group is 12 NOON.

I will lead a group departing IL-HD at 8:00am sharp.

We'll meet up with another group led by Ray and meeting at HoneyFluff Donuts, intersection of Joliet and Willow Springs Roads in Countryside. We need to depart there around 8:45am

I've got two route options, and each will be posted below. Option 1 is back roads and twisties, taking all of 2.5 hours to run hard. Maybe the return trip, but not likely for ride out there.

Option 2 allows a more leisurely pace along Route 6 into Ottawa. This will be probably be the route we'll take out there. Nice ride, actually.

Either way, both routes end the last 8 miles along Route 71 (pure Buell bliss).

I will have route sheets for everyone.

If you plan on joining and haven't notified RAY or NANCY, please do so here so we have sufficient seating for the group at 12 noon.

See ya Sunday!

I enjoyed the Chapter Brunch Run to Starved Rock yesterday and missed those who couldn't make it. Weather was perfect, especially in the afternoon. Sure wish those kinds of roads were a lot closer. The only complaint I heard was something about a slow bagger on the road that always seemed to be in the way.

Thanks again to Ray and Nancy for your help with the event.

I went to my first Wednesday Night Sportbike get-together at Strats in Villa Park last night. Had a great time and met a lot of cool riders. There were 60+ bikes and a few cool cars attending. Weather permitting, sportbike riders from all over Chicagoland meet there every Wednesday night about 7:00PM to bench race, swap lies, etc The meet is loosely organized by the website http://www.chicagolandsportbikes.com A great website of which Illinois H-D/Buell has just become a sponsor. Be sure to check out their site, loads of info on rides, trackdays, and much, much more. Hope to see some of you there in the near future, it would be great to have a little Buell representation.

Sportbike night at Strats is way cool!
As far as Memorial day, no, I will be out shredding water and terrorizing fish murderers on my Jetski that weekend. Sam

Is ANYBODY planning to attend track day at Blackhawk tomorrow (5/26/04)? I will be there. Feel free to contact me (soon!) if you are looking for someone else to ride with there & back, because that's how I will be commuting.

Just a note to let you know that Hal's has tickets to Road America for sale at $30.00 per day, cash only.

So if any of you are freeloading for the weekend and want to pick up tickets for Saturday at Road America, contact a local buddy or Hal's at www.halshd.com and make arrangements to have them either pick up or hold the tickets for you.

Enjoy!
