Author Message   Mike_lee Posted on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - 07:32 pm:        Years ago, when i first learned about the Buells, i came across this gif of an (i believe) S1W on the strip. I think it was white. Anyway, the guy launched the bike and it actually caught air. I have been trying to find that gif for awhile now but cannot. Perhaps someone here has seen it and/or can share it. Ive included a pic that im pretty sure looked like the one in question but i cant be sure cuz its been over a decade since ive seen it. From what i remember, the guy got a few inches of air which is pretty cool. I think the gif im lookin for is taken from the other side of the bike. Interesting that the red s1 that ebutch posted has the rear shock removed. Im guessin that its not needed on a straight line and perhaps some weight savings?   Ratbuell Posted on Friday, March 23, 2018 - 09:38 am:        Drag racers trick - eliminate squat, cuts wheelie likelihood. I used to run air shocks in my 72 Satellite, and would max out their pressure before a run to help with the short times and cut squat. In a 4400 lb station wagon...it would squat a LOT. And on the motorcycle, it also reduces weight.
