Apologies for asking what has probably been answered many times on the site. What do i need to do TPS reset etc. I know absolutely nothing about modern electronics (i am well acquainted with Lucas points from my Norton days if anyone is interested). What is best source, preferably a board sponsor. Or just look on ebay.. Thanks |

You can either do it with a Windows PC or an Android phone/tablet. (It can also be done with a Mac in Bootcamp) On Windows, you have the option of using ECMSpy or TunerPro. Given you have the EBR ECM, you cannot use the old free ECMspy program, as it is not compatible. There is a newer paid version of ECMspy (paid by donation to a hospital) that will work. There is also another program, TunerPro RT, which was originally designed for cars but can be modified to work on Buells. Tunerpro is very powerful, but very difficult to use, so I don't recommend that for simple TPS resets. On Android, there is a free program called ECMDroid available in the store. Both ECMspy and ECMdroid are easy to use. On Windows you can use either a USB cable, or Bluetooth, but I recommend using the USB cable as it is more reliable. ECMdroid and Android will require bluetooth. The cable and dongle are available on Ebay, among other sites. http://www.ecmspy.com/project.shtml https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org. ecmdroid&hl=en https://www.ebay.com/itm/Buell-ECM-Spy-TPS-Reset-D irect-Link-USB-Programming-Tuning-Black-Cable/1623 98928899 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Buell-Bluetooth-ECM-Spy-E CMDroid-Dongle-LITE-NO-CABLE-FREE-MAPS-ECM-Cables- com/162415125255 |

Thanks Froggy. The emcspy site looks helpful. I found a couple of other primers too. Now I just need a dictionary to understand the technical language... |

so I just want to be sure which program to download from ecmspy. As mentioned, I have a 2006 Uly with race ECM which I believe is from EBR. ecmspy lists program B2R1B for 2005-2007 XB with factory race ECM. Will that work with EBR race ECM? Was there an EBR race ECM for a 2006? They also list B3R1D and B3R3D for 2008 XB and 1125 with EBR ECM. Can someone tell me which program to get? |

Help: just read this from another website, 2012. You will NOT trash the ecm done correctly. That is a myth... Those whom trashed the ECM did it by user error... Stone cold fact... Never use ecmspy on 2008 up bikes... NEVER.... Even if the fuel cells are in order dont use it on 2008 up bikes 2008 up firmwares dont need a tool and if you did use one you did the damage yourself from low education on the user manual from the bike. 2007 down bikes are fine and firmware dependent... Safe firmware versions are. BUEGC Tubeframe, 1999-2002 BUEJA Tubeframe, 1999-2002 BUEKA Tubeframe, 1999-2002 BUECB XB9, 2002-2003 BUEGB XB9 & XB12, 2004 BUEIB XB9 & XB12, 2005-2007 BUEIC XB9 & XB12, 2005-2007 (Japan) ANY OTHER FIRMWARE DO NOT USE IT NO MATTER WHAT YEAR... Just use this NEW tool it uses the code that tells the ecm to run a reset sequence. which is the ecm code itself. The new Tunerpro RT ADX filke in live data. It is completely different in protocol than ecmspys data. 100% correct. Posted at Xoptiinside.com the ddfi2 ADX is the one you want. You will see the ddfi3 adx as well which does not have a TPS reset in it because it is controlled by key switch and throttle movements... Those are Facts... I don't care what horses mouth says what on it... Some people are very ticked the full ecm details got figured out and all the data got put into the best software on the market to do anything in the ecm for free... I know you're the "Tuning GOD" on here, but emperical evidence proves you incorrect in this instance. 2005 XB12R here, EBR ECM installed. Connected ECMSpy to reset TPS with EBR ECM, and the bike began to run erratically. EBR ECM returned to EBR for analysis and analysis by their programmer, Danny Bilansky returned that ECMSpy corrupted certain cells in the program which caused the motorcycle to run erratically. Thus, EBR now warns that one should not use ECMSpy with an EBR ECM. I am not sure why you are implying that firmware was intentionally altered by a user when merely trying to reset TPS. I understand you are trying to sell a product. Misleading people, accusing them of ignorance, and negative talk of EBR is certainly not the best way to do so. Best of luck on your sales, sir. I am merely trying to warn others in order to prevent damaging their good they purchased from the "horses mouth" while trying to support the good company that brought us all to Buell to begin with. |

You need to figure out what firmware is already on your bike and go based off that. The firmware on the EBR Race ECM is different than the one the stock and P&A Race ECMs use and the cause of the issues. The paid ECMspy should be able to detect which firmware you are working with. I'm not intimately familiar with that version, but from what I've seen in screenshots it should detect it after you have it read your ECM contents, and it should display it down in the lower right corner. |

ECMDroid is free on Google Play and will swap maps, datalog, change parameters, and show your firmware version. Its only for android devices though so if your an Apple, get a $30 tablet or extra android phone to use it. It also connects wirelessly (not a cable) so you'll need a bluetooth dongle (less that $50). I like the one I got from Buelltooth.com |
