Manual has anyone got a 2010 service manual? i have a full 2009 manual, curious if there would be any material differences between models for basic maintenance. I am aware the 2010 has a sight glass for checking oil level. f Coolant Flush I'm pretty confident with its low kms this bike is running the original coolant fluid, well overdue for a change. Do I just follow the service manual? It's simply saying to drop the fluid in the radiators, but no mention of flushing the residual fluid within the engine. Side rant Why would Buell/HD invest in putting a sight glass in, but not rectify the rotor/stator oil hole (continuing with the HD bandaid harness)? priorities!!!!} |

Also - in the manual instructions it states to install a new sealing ring when tightening the RHS drain screw. Is there a p/n for this, or just grab a o-ring kit and find one to suit?

It is a brass washer that is used to seal the bolt. I have reused mine several times with no issue. I just heat it up with a lighter to help it expand. When it comes to flushing the coolant out, I use a wet dry shop vac to suck all of the water out. Then I flush it out with distilled water until it comes out clear. I hope that helps. |

cheers for that. I assume sucking it out, or blowing it back the other way makes no difference. Just clean up. |

The fix came out after production of the motorcycles ended. The stator issue was barely known of when 2010s started production, as it takes time for the issue to develop. The relay harness came out in Feb 2010, which was about 4 months after the last Buell was built. |

has anyone tried Motul MoCool? I don't require any anti-freeze properties at any point during the year, with our minimum being around 5degree C. But in summer right now, we are regularly hitting high 30's to mid 40's. Its the ideal riding weather as there is less rainfall during this season. But the bike really hates the 40's, and when in traffic its worse and naturally the stator bandaid comes into play. Keen to know if anyone has experience with the MoCool product and its effectiveness and compatibility with this engine. |

1) the system only holds 3 qts. of fluid (a little less than 3 liters) 2) living here in extreme southern SoCal the heat is "on high" in the summer months...I run straight water (distilled) and a product from "Justice Brothers" (see link below) 3) Turbo charged cars (and trucks) are making a come back here in the states...(I'm old enough to remember a turbo V6 in a Buick!) here is a link from a a "car" site that "test/compares" popular coolant additives: http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/engine/070 3-turp-cooling-system-additives/ 4) may want to re-post your question about the Motul product in the "racing" section of this forum...but remember most big HD engines are NOT water cooled. ( might get better results if you join a inline 4/rice burner web site and ask your question...almost all inline 4 crotch rockets run hot here in SoCal in the summer months) 5) Motul produces a premium product ( I use their brake fluid) and would suspect that the coolant additive is of premium quality and performance. hth |
