Picked this Rotor up on eBay. Several months later I installed it aaaand it’s warped. Picking up the pads when you rotate the wheel. Outside of the PayPal purchase protection period now. Anyway, I figured I’d see if anyone might want it or have the equipment to repair it. Make an offer.  | ||

Just a thought here but have you tried to spray some brake cleaner near the buttons and rotate them at all? It worked for a buddy on a Kawasaki with a floating rotor once. He thought it was warped but a couple of the buttons were bound up with debris limiting it's ability to "float" properly. He was able to rotate them by inserting an old torx or allen socket in the hole of the button. Back in 2003 the local dealer here at that time replaced my pulsating rotor under warranty on my 02 Thunderbolt. A few months later it started to pulsate again but Harley denied the second claim saying it was normal for this style rotor to have some degree of movement and was not out of spec. I lived with it for a while but eventually wound up replacing it with an EBC pro-lite rotor. | ||

Interesting. I haven’t tried that. I bought another replacement on eBay that I will install in the next few days. I’ve got a feeling this is the way these rotors are. The older style with iron rotor may rattle but at least the iron avoids warping better than steel. | ||

If the rotor has a flat crosssection and is magnetic, any automotive flywheel resurfacing shop should be able to blanchard grind it to restore it to the original factory finish and trueness. | ||

It does have a minimum thickness stamped on it. I guess it’s worth taking to someone to see if they can true it up. | ||

I did a quick search and found this place that specializes in blanchard grinding motorcycle brake rotors. Price seems reasonable, but you might check a local auto flywheel grinding shop to see if they might be less. https://www.truedisk.net/ | ||

Speeder, I sent the rotor to Tom at TrueDisk. He called me Sunday and said he messed with it for about an hour and couldn’t get it to straighten. He said you’d get it straight on one side and the other side would get out. Anyway, I told him to scrap it for me. No longer for sale obviously lol |
