Has anyone tried to convert a SX to RX. Basically I'm hoping to snag a top triple clamp and handles from EBAY and to convert my SX to RX for track days, then convert it back to SX version for street riding. I don't really care about the fairing but if I could easy mount the windscreen as minimalist as possible! Anybody done this, it looks like simple swap of top triple clamp and bars, etc.?! Any suggestions or concerns that I'm missing? |

You would have to refigure your headlight and ignition switch mounting. |

I just looked at a couple top triple clamps on ebay, the key switch is on the top clamp, hopeful to move from current local to top clamp. I'll have to look at the head light/windshield mounting to on service manual parts list to see how they enter change if at all. No hurry, track season is done for me this year things to do for the coming winter months! |

Key switch is just like the XBs. Separate models for RX and SX, both bolt to the top clamp. |

I'm doing exactly that to my SX right now. I'll let you know how it works out. I'm going to leave the SX upper triple (and key) on it for now and add clip-ons that clamp to the fork tubes (54mm if your wondering) I might change it up later but I'd like to RFID the ignition anyway. |

Shoggin, I found WoodCraft clip-ons on ebay at $147, before I pull the trigger on them I'm curious if you've done it, what you did, how do you like it, and what would you do different? |

I honestly haven't been home for over a month. I'm getting on a plane tomorrow though to get back and I have boxes of parts to play with! A full kit from hot bodies too, but I'll put the clip-ons...on... and see how I like them. |

Shoggin - do you still have the Red 1125CR? I miss riding that red streak, was a ton of fun even with the stator issue I had. How is the charging system on it since the mod was done? Anyhow, keep me posted on the "conversion"! |

I WISH! When I left FL, I left everything including her. Long story. I optimized that wiring a little, but really she was nothing less than spectacularly fast, fun, and dependable. Swapped a bunch of other parts around but only for 'want to's', not 'have to's' I love the SX, but it's still no replacement for a CR. Need bigger garage

Nice!! Yep, Yep, I sure do miss the red beastie!! Have you every checked out "Speed of Color" web site? They have a cool looking fairing that I still want to get for my 1125R...bad to the bone! https://speed-of-color.de/soc-cup-verkleidung-1125 cr/r-437?c=75 |

I had a CR for 3 days. Really liked it, and kinda want another one, even though the SX is so similar. The CR aesthetics has really grown on me over the years. |

Phelan, I see you've listed "twisted design" tail tidy upgrade on your 1190. Which unit did you get, the LED version or the carbon fiber/LED kit? Any pictures of how bright they are? Twisted "website" doesn't show that angle, I like the two light LED version. The price seems spot on compared to other tail tidy out there. |

I have the carbon fiber and LED kit that mounts from the seat bolt. It is VERY bright and works great. It's a premium price ($180) considering what's doable with minimal investment and some fab work, but fit and finish is excellent and well worth the price IMHO. |

I have that same dual light CF version of the twisted designs tail tidy. Got an early version that the LED's burned out. All I did was mention that when I went to buy a new one and he completely replaced it for free! They are VERY bright. Annoyingly so to anyone behind you (so almost bright enough) It does make the seat bolt a little harder to get to so I bought a flex shaft 5/16 nut driver specifically for it and put it in the tool bag. I also don't think it's very pretty up close. I'll try to remember to take pics but I put a tiny drop of oil on each LED, spray painted the whole circuit board semi-gloss black and then wiped off the oil. Turned out better, but still not "Ducati worthy" |

Oh and I tried installing the clip-ons today too. Its a no-go without the RX upper, at least without the key cylinder in the stock SX place. Shoulda bought the one I saw... |

Shaughn - It appears you plan on total conversion from the SX to the RX since you've got your HotBodies race kit. Have you done any work on the conversion? Since your the front runner on the conversion, have you determined any part / numbers required for the conversion? With winter upon me, I've got about 5 months of non riding time to get the conversion done, but gotta jump on the HotBodies 50% off deal soon! Thxs in advance! |

Sadly, I have been a traveling working boy for too many days in a row! I plan on getting my happy butt in the shop and hope to chronicle the fiberglass install and upper triple/clip-on swap when I do! |

Potentially interested in the stock grey if it’s the matte grey air box cover. |

And the latest hiccup is that I need the big front fairing bracket for an RX that holds the dash and the front upper fairing. Part#L0942.1B7YCX I have a message in to Lance at SPHD but a used one would be fine. Anyone? |

I happened upon one on Ebay, pricey at $395. https://www.ebay.com/itm/16-EBR-1190-RX-Erik-Buell -Racing-front-fairing-cowl-gauge-mount-bracket-sta y/401399384340?hash=item5d75448914:g:Rj0AAOSwJ~RZs GHA |

The part number search did nothing there, but other keywords and I saw it last night. I'm trying to avoid that The old LAP list shows one for $320. Still expensive but... |
