Hey Guys, I've started digitizing B2W magazines. Ive got all of them (I think) 15 issues total. Kicker is my first and i think third issues are black and white reprints. I'm going to upload them to dropbox and share the link here for the time being but I'd prefer a more permanent host, maybe even this site if possible. They run about 40mb each. Ive done the two larger format ones (Issues 14 and 15) and will upload more as I get time to get them done so bear with me. It may take a while, they are 50 pages or so each and I have to do them outside to get the light and the app to get a clear picture on my ipad. I'd like to hear more about this . . . this could be a good thing. I am in the process . . . sort of an effort, in perpetuity, for years . . . of sorting Buell stuff out. I've got multiple copies of all the old (as in RR1000 and RR1200) literature, owners manuals, shop manuals, parts manuals and all the early articles about Erik and Buell Motor Company. We have been contacted in the last year about sending physical stuff and many documents to a museum. I would be interested in, perhaps, talking about getting as many documents in a single repository as possible, I've now moved to the "undisclosed location" and have, literally, the loft of the barn pretty damn full of cases of Buell memorabilia (at least it's memorabilia to me). My kids have declared it of no interest . . . no disrespect to Erik, The Elves or any of us in the thick of things for 30 years but when I asked them what they wanted when I went . . . they both said "a pack of matches", Anyway . . . I've saved cases of magazines. No clue WHAT is in them but each one was saved for some reason . . . pretty much indicating there is something "Buell related". Just a thought. |

By the way . . . . I think I also have printed copies of all the e-mails when the Battle2Win idea germinated and we were starting it up . . . some of that may be interesting as well. Reg and I were on the phone pretty much several times a day . . . he did most the leg work from Scott's Valley, with his amazing staff, and we kept playing with ideas for layout and how to make it edgy. Reg is a genius, not only at writing, but in nailing what folks want in terms of reading and product. I, in retrospect, would have loved to have seen him play a bigger role in Buell that HD allowed. |

There's an Apple app, CamScanner, it's free and works great with new cameras. I use my iPad mini 4, has a great camera and a big enough screen to see what I'm doing but small enough not to shadow too much. You just take pictures of each page, then go through and mark the page corners (it tries automatically but often needs tweaking) and format the image with the click of a button. You can upload straight to Dropbox, email, or save in iBooks as a PDF, straight from the app. It takes me about 30-45 mins to do a whole magazine. The best quality is in bright sunlight with a steady hand. (Message edited by Williamscottrobertson on August 01, 2017) |

That's great! I've seen people talking about that magazine plenty as I've dug through the archives of this forum for years but I've never gotten to actually read any of them. "My kids have declared it of no interest . . . no disrespect to Erik, The Elves or any of us in the thick of things for 30 years but when I asked them what they wanted when I went . . . they both said "a pack of matches"," You better update that will and make sure you have badweb as the inheritor of everything Buell related! |

Court, Seeing your postings about saving printed emails and references to a "barn loft full of memorabilia" gives me comfort. My wife's accusation of being a hoarder were sinking in as we finished unloading a semi trailer of Buell parts and "memorabilia" (including emails / faxes from the nineties). Our barn at the new place is nearly filled with the stuff and I still have a (bulging) storage unit to transfer. Your postings make me less concerned about myself - Thanks |

The barn is a great idea! I'm got my 2100 square foot earth sheltered house and garage about full with only 3 cars and 8 bikes. There's so much out there that needs to be saved- rare machines, manuals, parts, etc. and some of it is too cheap to resist! I'm real tempted to rip the two feet of soil off the concrete roof and built a replica traditional midwestern barn, could easily add over a thousand square feet of high clearance shop/parking space and another thousand plus square feet of loft space. With insulation, the heat loss would probably be less than the current "green roof". |

Well, I feel a lot of this should be in the public domain I’m looking for a good color copy of Vol 1, Issue 1, and Vol 1, Issue 3. Even if I could just borrow them to scan and send them back. My copies are B2W “reprints” which are black and white photocopies. |
