Howdy everyone. So I have been an owner of a 2008 Buell 1125r for a few years now, and needless to say, it has been the best bike I have ever owned. Nothing has ever been too bad to work on until recently. I have hit a problem I cannot figure out on my own, so I turn to the all-knowing Gods great mechanics of the forum for help. Recently I went to do the Spark Plugs (Nothing too bad there), and also decided to clean out the AIC since I had always had problems with that since I purchased the bike (it never stopped me from riding though, just the occasional stall out at a light). Upon completion, and turning her over, I have encountered a consistent backfire when I let off the throttle. The bike is also stalling out when in low gear with low rpms. I am at wit's end, though I do not claim to be an expert mechanic. I have removed the plugs and replaced them a second time to be safe, as well as checking the IAC again since those are the only things I messed with since the problem started, but to no avail. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance. |

Thank you for the responses Gabby Duck. I have not checked the O-ring, nor have I tried a tps reset but I will try both and report back |

Alright. Well, I have double checked the AIC o-rings and their seating as well as reset the tps to no avail. The bike is still backfiring, and from the smell, it's running rich if that helps out at all. |

Ok from what I have read ALL YOU HAVE DONE IS CLEAN THE IAC and change the plugs. I would put back the old plugs and see if it helps. Go back double check if you have put the plugs wires on correctly etc... Re check plug gap and make sure you check all connections to any sensors. I have left things unplug or knocked off and forgot vacuum lines when working on cars |

Throttle body Intake seals need to be tested for leaks if all of the above is good. |

Other things to consider weak fuel pump, bad O2 sensor leaking fuel injectors or bad O rings on injectors (leaking air) do you know your AFV [ adaptive fuel value ] |
