This isn't something that anything other than shopping around can cure. Case in point - clean record, 23, XB9R - $1550 a year through State Farm. Insurance is legalized extortion. All you can do is shop around and pray for the best. edited by darthane on May 07, 2004 |

Try HD Insurance. Cheaper than State Farm for me. $550 full coverage and highest liability. |

Depending on where you live AND your credit score try AIG. Switched from Progresive and pay $700/yr for 2 Hayabusas, full coverage.

I switched to Geico after Progressive tried to double my rate this year. Geico runs me about 750.00 a year for the XB and the Blast together. |

Every state seems to have different rules. Then factor in if you live in a city, if you commute on it, your age, driving record, yada yada. Shop around when its time to renew... |

When I bought the XB9s, Progressive wanted $1500+ per year. State Farm charges $275, year full coverage, $500 deductable. 32 with a pretty clean driving record |

It sounds like Progressive actually know what an XB9S is now, when I went to get mine insured in September last year ,they confused it with the X1 and then tried to hit me with a $400 increase because of their mistake. I will definitely shop around this year |

DairyLand gave me the best quote when I went to HD, but it was still horrible ($2,100/yr). I'm now with my credit union. I hear a lot of other people have good rates with DairyLand though. |

HD Insurance with Dairyland as the underwriter, over 45 y/o, married, no recent tickets, no accidents, preferred customer discount, 20 years experience, full coverage with 250.00 deductible and $3000 in accessories is only about $450.00 a YEAR!! It may be the best thing about HD. |

I have a pretty good relationship with my insurance agent (State Farm),seeing he also does's biz with me.What he has told me is that your best rate when looking for insurance is usually the one that you have other policies with like home owners, cars, etc.,you get my drift.Going to another company with just one policie (motorcycle) is already to them a risk because they alot of times don't benefit from it anyways.Even though they can give you a better rate right off the bat doesn't mean that one ticket, accident,or claim and then they either drop you or your rates go through the roof. Then your right back to square one. They usually raise your rates after a year or two any how and that can tick you off.Me I'm paying $389.00 a year for insurance.I'm 36 yrs old and no tickets, claims etc. |
