Anyone have a decent 16" shock laying around they would part with reasonably? Yes I could get this one rebuilt, but with shipping each way, and the few weeks they quoted me for turn around, I'm looking at a good month and a half atleast... I bought this x1 with the intention of fixing a few things and just keeping it around for the hell of it, but a different new toy purchase shortly after, has changed my plans. I could sell it the way it is, but its like riding a pogo stick... and when I think something is sketchy to ride, that's a bad sign lol. I'd rather not have someone bounce off the road mid corner right after they get it. I could always still decide to keep it, who knows. But right now, I'll barely ride it to work the way it is. |

I have one at my house in CA - I run the shorter shocks. I tried it with my mounts and was real low! Anyway make me offer and I will have my son ship it. (Message edited by Mhlunsford on August 03, 2017) |

You should keep the X1. I had the same problem with my stock shock. I sold the bouncy one on ebay and got around $200 for it. Then I purchased a Twin Motorcycles 16" shock from the netherlands for my S3. It was around $550 shipped to my door. From the time I ordered until I had it in my hands was around 6 days. If you tell Martin at Twin that you are a forum member, he will knock off about $40 US. https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp ?guid=YXHFSC&aid=4323&cid=9865&s=&a=&aname=Buell_M 2X1S1S2S3_rear_shock_42cm=1654_inch |

I already have a big fleet of Buells, and room has been an issue for years... Wow that's allot for a shock that doesn't work. You did good! I can have a full rebuild for $200 on this one. I really have no need for an upgraded shock on the tuber. I have a Penske on my S1 and never make use of it. If I'm going to really be playing I just take one of the other bikes. |
