I like the Kar products and think they are quality handguns. I perceive them has being quite a bit heavier than comparable guns for some reason. That's may not be a bad thing since it's a balancing act between ease of carry and felt recoil. I have a little Keltec in .32. It weighs just over 6 oz. and is crazy easy to carry. But the apparent recoil is worse than my .45. It's really not a fun gun to shoot. Kar's are also a bit pricy compared to the Ruger and the S&W but not enough to swing a decision one way or the other. What might be a deal breaker is the back sights. That single strip of white might be a problem for me. How do you like them Rick? I just sold my Sig Sauer P938 in 9mm. I really liked that gun but it was just a touch too big for a true pocket, at least for me. Right now my EDC is a Glock 26 in a Triple T holster. The Triple T is a design like the Alien Gear but with a stiffer leather piece. For me it's hard to put on so for a quick trip to the store, just slipping something in my pocket seems to be the best answer. Hence the need for a true pocket pistol. |

I sure like my Kimber, but there are several manufacturers making essentially the same gun. They're all nicely concealable.

Micro Carry is easy in a belly band. |

Micro Carry is another good choice but if I was going to mess with a belly band, I'd just get a small IWB holster and be done with it. I'm looking for something that I can just pick up and leave the house. As little fuss as possible. |

Beretta 21a in .22LR. I have to make sure I don't have it at times. |

That Kimber (or any of the mini 1911s) slip in a pocket holster quite well. Easy peasy. |

I thought the P938 would do exactly that but it was just a hair big for that. Maybe I should revisit the P239. I'm not a Beretta fan at all. Plus 22LR doesn't have (IMHO) enough punch. My Keltec is the same about concealment. Can't tell if it's in your pocket or not. |

The P239 isn't in the same ballpark in terms of concealment.

Guess I'm just need to go gun shopping. It's easier for me if I can see them side by side. |

You have to heft them in your hand. Point them at a safe target, Then look over the sights. ( to see how it and you naturally point. do it a couple of times to see if you quickly adapt to grip shape. ) If it fits the hand then consider the switches. Different operating systems, different programming. I'll let others state their preferences. No matter which you pick, train. |

Zane, I know you are not a Beretta fan. For the benefit of others, The second generation Beretta Pico is the thinest .380 and feels great in my hand. Paddle mag release keeps you from accidentally dropping the mag. Trigger is heavy enough for pocket carry. (not that I would recommend pocket carry. legal disclaimer) |

I'm not picky with sights. If it has sights, I can work with it. I haven't decided on a mouse gun yet, my self. Right now S&W Airweights are the smallest guns I've got. I did find out that Zenith makes an MP5K clone in a factory AOW. Very interested. Not quite pocket sized...

In my 20s I conceal carried a Cobray M-11 w/30 round magazines. That clone will hide under the jacket. |

Awww yeah, the Zenith might now work for me for concealed carry...lol. Aesquire, you completely right about needing to hold them, and try out the sights and trigger. It never ceased to amaze me how personal the choice of a hand gun is. What works great for you might only be good for shooting my foot off. What works great for me, might not work at all for the next guy. It's a completely personal decision. Then once the decision is made, practice practice, practice. The best gun in the world is reduced my 75% if you don't get and stay proficient. Kinda like riding a motorcycle. |

I like guns that feel like you've had them forever the first time you try them out...similar to finding the right woman...only you can have as many as you want with little to no additional drama. |

If you find the right woman, you don't need a second. That's never true about guns. Now all I need to do is find that woman. The gun part is easy compared to that. |

I have lots of guns I like, starting 40+ years ago. Took till I was 50 to find the "right" woman. The hunt was the point.

All my guns were planned purchases, save for one, and most were purchased before I met my lady. She found me when I wasn't looking. That's usually how the best things come to be. 20140912_082849 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr 20140912_082322 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr |

I've been divorced since may of 2009. I met a lady when I spent 2 months in Ohio last winter. We've stayed in contact and now she's talking about coming out here to check out Arizona. She hates the winters in Ohio and is considering relocating. As I said before: I live in hope. So I have to get a .380 and a Glock 30 before she gets out here. Most woman think curtains are more important that guns. Silly women. |

I have a Kimber Micro 9. Wanted something smaller so was considering the Micro 380. Compared the Micro 380 and the LP II side by side at the LGS and there was no question....the LCP II is smaller and a perfect pocket pistol for me. It is actually more pleasant to shoot than the Micro 9. It's less "snappy" when fired...and the Kimber is a sweet shooting gun so I think that says alot about the LCP II |

Side story: My wife likes Kimber. She will not carry a pistol she thinks is ugly. So, micro carry won out. Now my mother-n-law does not like dirty guns. "Those autos throw dirty casings all over you". 38 Special in a wheel for her. Me? "Reliable all the time". The 21a in a pocket beats my .454 in the safe. The .454 ventures out in the winter. I do carry a .357 more than my .45 now days. |

Seen the new Taurus with glued on silicone grip surfaces? Looks good now. The plastic WILL fall off. Leaving ugly behind. It's the same polymer and glue used in bicycle parts. It comes off. Poor choice. |

I'm not a real big guy (5 foot 10 and 190) except for being a bit fluffy. That makes it harder for me to carry concealed. Plus I just like mouse guns. I carry 1000 times more than I shoot. That's why it has to be easy to carry. If it's a pain, it gets left behind and that does no one any good. Not me, or the guy that needs me to shoot him. |

Yep, Summertime and cargo shorts makes this easy. The folding grip is much larger than the original grips and make it much easier to shoot. It may not have knock down power but will blind them! 1-1/8" barrel makes for a hell-of-a flame thrower! Another nice thing is the safety. Setting the hammer in a slot between rounds make it safe to drop, let alone carry. Now if I was going somewhere I probably shouldn't I would bring something else. |

That is accurate. That new Taurus looks good on paper. We'll see how it works in the flesh soon enough. From a purely aesthetic design standpoint they did a great job.

That's the gun I'm predicting glue failure on. Nice shape, clever idea. Betting against anyway and would be happy to be wrong. I really like the low snag rounded corners sculpted look. Most of the European pistols look squared off chunky, especially the front of the slide. Germanic ugly styling. That Taurus looks great. But I'm cynical on the glued bits. |
