Well I got me one finally I ran my XB with the Clear Alternatives light that came on the bike. It was ok, but only ok. The CA light was about the same brightness as the stock light, but only if directly behind it. Even slightly off-axis and it just didn't grab your attention. Now that my girlfriend rides the XB, It concerns me that she wouldn't have the best and safest light out there. I wanted to show the difference in a different way. Because the XBLight is SO bright, it is difficult to do comparison shots with different pics, so I rigged up a little harness to run them both at the same time. I got the CA light on axis to show it at it's best. Here they are, both in running light mode:
And in brake light mode:
All I can say is THANK YOU to Robert at XBLights! Top quality work, top notch guy. This light is worth it's weight in gold- if you are even remotely thinking about purchasing one...get off the fence and get one! |

A couple of other notes: It would appear the the XBLight is brighter in running light mode than the CA light is in brake light mode! So there's some perspective for you. Also, keep in mind that in these pics, the CA light has a clear lens in it for maximum brightness and the XBLight has a red lens on it, but can be purchased with a clear lens for an EVEN BRIGHTER light! |

Wow What a very noticeable difference. My XBlights tail light is still my favorite mod. Robert is a wizard with the LEDs. |

I agree, I'm glad to have rid the bike of the CA light! Did I mention it's bright? Cuz it is. Very bright. |

Yea, Im not sure how people think those Clear Alternative lights are worth two poops!?!? They are! One poop on it and the other in their pants when they realize how much better your light is compared to theirs.... |

Wow man, that looks awesome! I was looking at the site earlier today deciding if I wanted to buy a kit or not... You just sold me! Honestly, was it difficult to set up? I'm a total novice to bikes... I just got my XB9R a few months ago. |

my XB light took only 5 minutes to install from the time I pulled it out of the mailbox... my flasher was already pre-installed on the light too. excellent execution by Rob. Ill try and get some pictures together tomorrow for a step by step XB light install. (Message edited by delta_one on September 27, 2009) |

Super easy install. If you get just the taillight, it's 2 screws and 3 connectors...like a 45 second job! If you get an integrated one it would take a few minutes longer. Robert is a great guy, and I am sure he would help you and ensure a smooooth install. |

That's what I have, option 6...love it! Get it! I'm adding these so I'll have 3 brake lights across the back and 2 lights blinking for turns. |

I already had a CA lights and I did not like it. It was weak, almost equal to the stock. Now I use one of the 2010 XB models (LED) and it is, in my opinion, the best!
