Hi, I have owned my Uly for 15,000 miles, almost 3 years, and I paid for the TPS I did at 20k. Never paying $110 again for HD to do that, and npw I have the Buelltooth to do it.
Is TPS reset required every so often?
Is it simple, any special tips?

In my personal experience, after about 10k miles they never need a reset again. It is like the sensor settles in, then once in its happy place never needs tweaking again.

You can check your TPS reading (degrees and percentage) with the engine off on ECMspy or ECMDroid, and if it is still good, no need to bother.

Froggy,

I am looking at my ECM droid app , and don't know where to go. Is it active Tests?...it shows TPS reset on top in the "unselected gray bar".

I'm not 100% familiar with ECMdroid, but looking at screenshots you might want the live data screen then look at the "TPD" which should mean throttle position degrees.

I found these steps for doing a reset

Looking around, I found a different channel called "TPD" which seemed to be what is needed to reset the plate angle correctly after a TPS reset on my '03 XB9S.

Here's how I did it:

1-With key and kill button switched on, bit motor not running, connect to ECM Droid.
2-Find the Data Channel screen and select TPD Channel and RPM Channel.
3-Toggle the "Live Data On" button.
4-Back out the idle screw until the TPD channel readout drops to 0º, then back it out 2 more turns.
5-Change screens to the one with a "TPS Reset" button, and hit TPS Reset. Once it indicates TPS Reset was done successfully, hit OK.
6-Go back to the Data Channels window.
7-Turn the idle screw clockwise until it shows 5.5º to 6º in the TPD channel.
8-Start the bike. Adjust the idle screw until you get your desired idle speed (via the Data Channel not your tach).

Thanks; so I do what u posted after a TPS reset, or just to check the TPS readings?
