Jeff, It's mainly the enjouphs cofefeve trolling that gets me. Patrick, Mom and dad? That's tough. It took her a while, but mom Rudy finally saw Hil-liar-y for who she really is. Dad's in NY up near you on his way to obtaining a NY concealed carry permit. |

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/07/th e_nazi_origins_of_renewable_energy_and_global_warm ing.html Blake, well... I love them, but we try not to talk politics much. Hard, when MSNBC etc, are on 24/7. I actually understand the folk's leaning socialist. They paid hard labor for retirement, high taxes for others their whole lives, and it by golly is their turn. Their 30 year old selves would be horrified. |

http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2017/07/21/kalashnik ov-group-announces-fully-automated-combat-robots/ Does this belong in the Never Again thread? Do I have a constitutional right to a combat robot? Do I have a right to own anti-combat-robot weapons? This stuff is real. Just a matter of time before Ed-209 opens fire on a crowd. When will the Mayor of N.Y. City send riot drones to suppress a protest? Kill bots roam Chicago? ( Detroit can't afford them, ironically ) As I ask more & more frequently. In what movie was building an unstoppable killing machine a good idea? |

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/449770/clima te-change-activists-advise-stop-driving-flying-gri lling-burgers-having-children Stop environmental activists from traveling. Take their cars. Ask them to kill themselves to save the planet. Prevent them from shopping for food. Deny them use of restaurants. Demand they sterilize themselves. Demand they give up their jobs. Oh, sorry, got that wrong. They demand you do all that. They get to use private jets and dine on food you are told to feel guilty about. Served by cheap immigrant labor. And assured they are the righteous by their social media masters. ( who are demanding cheap immigrant labor so they can fire expensive Americans ) |

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/03/29/reflections -on-mark-steyns-a-disgrace-to-the-profession-about -dr-michael-mann/ Ducbsa, so the left now blames the unpleasant nature of the Crisis Con movement, for Trump? Because they promote a holy cleansing of Privilege of the Industrial World which necessarily means you must give up what you have worked and paid for in the name of made up Doom. At no place in the Crisis Con is there room for individual freedom or wealth. Every and Any excuse to blame the working class for all sins is taken. The planet is dying because of your car. Your BBQ. Your air conditioning. Your ignorance. Your stubborn insistence on keeping progress made since the Eighteenth century. While they fly jets to conferences in the best tourist attractions, sue people to shut them up, demand heretics be fired and their research erased, while just coincidentally promoting a cause of international governance as desired and demanded by Marxist dogma. Thus, like Hillary, the Con is so self indulgent and out of touch with what people want that they allowed the ultimate evil to happen. Trump. ( who they hate because he's not one of them ) ( come to think of it that's why the Republican establishment hates him too. ) |

http://www.chicoer.com/opinion/20170112/george-wil l-academia-may-now-be-beyond-satire In 1996, Alan Sokal, a New York University physicist and self-described “academic leftist,” composed an essay that was a word salad of solemn academic jargon. He said he strove to be “especially egregious,” by maundering on about “the dialectical emphases” of “catastrophe theory” becoming a “concrete tool of progressive political praxis.” His essay’s gaudy title was: “Transgressing the Boundaries: Toward a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity.” He sent it to the left-leaning “cultural studies” journal Social Text, which swooned, perhaps in part because Sokal larded his nonsense with political tropes that are catnip to lettered leftists — “emancipatory mathematics,” “demystify and democratize the production of scientific knowledge,” “the crisis of late-capitalist production relations.” Soon after Social Text published his faux scholarship, Sokal revealed in another journal, Lingua Franca, that it was a parody. |

Not next week's therapy but promising for a few years from now. A buddy told me Ketamine is the new experimental treatment for schizophrenia. Therapy not cure. Quite a change. Most psychiatric drugs are to numb folk down and level the waves out. Which means hammering the peaks down more than lifting the valleys. ( There's a political metaphor there ) |

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/29/technology/chin a-apple-censorhip.html There's more than one reason I don't buy Apple products. Most are mundane, I consider them overpriced, ( but nicely designed ) purposely limited, and don't like the vertical integration of their products. I'd pay cash for the Apple OS, if they'd let me use it on my home built computers, because Microsoft is either evil or incompetent, or both. ( both ) But Apple won't sell their OS, wanting to maximize profits by forcing you to buy overpriced hardware. It's the same processor & chips, as any PC with an added few lines of code to make the parts Apple Only. Gotta give them credit on ergonomics and ease of use, though. But it's the Apple management decision to let, and help, China control their people with censorship and spyware that is the best reason not to pay them my money. It would be great if the Apple team was pulling a super scam to screw over the Chinese government and help free the people from murderous tyranny. Pity I'll never know until they actually do, and brag about it...... or it may be smart of them to never admit it and remain a secret source of freedom fighters, in which case I may go to my grave cursing them unfairly. Figure the odds. |

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/opinion/303 22133 Cold weather from climate change ( the real thing ) could disrupt the food supply. It's happened before. And nations fell. In fact you can trace the fall of many regimes due to rising food costs. The French Revolution, the Arab Fall, ( or spring if you're obedient )Rome, twice, Czarist Russia. .. etc. Venezuela today. Venezuela is not a climate disaster, It's communism disaster. But observe the protest/riots. When your children are dying you flee, revolt, or die. |

It's the proverbial slippery slope. Never mind GMO super soldiers. They cost too much in so many ways. For one thing, you make someone stronger, faster, smarter than average, and tell him so, ( how else do you motivate him? ) then he's going to start questioning why he should take orders from inferiors? It only makes sense to take over and rule the poor wretches who lack your advantages. So any General in charge of those projects better be a SF fan....so he can stop them, or that country is toast. KHAAAAANNNNNN!!! No the trouble is we are a good hearted consumer society. You are considering a child. It makes sense to want them not to need glasses, be free of genes for heart disease, bad teeth, the whole range of "preventable" ( someday ) ills so many have to endure. That's just good parenting and common sense. While you're at it, an athletic build, decent but not excessive height, and basic handsome/beauty norms seems to be only fair to give your child, right? Choosing hair & eye color is probably the easiest and earliest choices you can make. A cute blonde, blue eyed girl? Who could resist? While you are at it, it's child abuse to allow them to not be intelligent. How horrible a parent are you to settle for a dull child? ( golly, those would be so much easier to raise ) You're going to hear flack on how a kid with much over 140 IQ is going to have social problems... but that's in a 20th century school. In the late 21st, all the kids are going to be high IQ. ( or be a minder of lawn mowing & cleaning robots ) So far, so good. And what man wouldn't want his son to be well endowed? Or his daughter to be able to compete with Real Dolls? You don't have to go much further to find some serious bumps in this road. |

Man-caused climate alarmism is bunk. It was warmer in the past. Computer models are not science, especially when populated with arbitrary factors to try to match historic temperature trends. |

Heheheh - front page article, BBC, "'Dodgy' greenhouse gas data threatens Paris accord" First few lines - "Air monitors in Switzerland have detected large quantities of one gas coming from a location in Italy. However, the Italian submission to the UN records just a tiny amount of the substance being emitted. Levels of some emissions from India and China are so uncertain that experts say their records are plus or minus 100%." |

Sure. You are taxed on an invisible odorless gas that is released by breathing, baking bread, opening a Pepsi or beer, and burning anything containing carbon. The nigh impossibility of tracking human consumption other than fuel use makes it ideal to steal from the poor and middle class. They don't have the money or connections to game the system. Every penny thus comes from the lower income folk and goes to the richest. Of course there's cheating. Billions of dollars are at stake. The thing to notice us who gets rich. |
