The article is up: http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs/2017-superbik e-street-shootout Their main complaints about the EBR are lack of electronics and lack of refinement. It doesn't appear they compared track times for the bikes. |

Their main complaints about the EBR are lack of electronics and lack of refinement. Anyone remember the launch of the Dodge Viper? Exact same sentiments from reviews back then and Dodge was unapologetic about it. In fact, the Viper was coveted BECAUSE of that. I've always viewed them as almost a throwback "muscle bike" compared to their main competition, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just too bad the marketing funds weren't available to push that type of angle. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't understand the need to make a motorcycle SO powerful that you need all kinds of electronic aids just to ride the damned thing without killing yourself. |

Apparently at least tester Thai Long liked the EBR. |

I must have gotten old without realizing it. That was a rather boring field of superbikes. Even the testers all seemed to yawn. They didn't have much enthusiasm except Thai Long Ly for the 1190. Interesting things about the bikes: Kawasaki - forks, tach Yamaha - exhaust note Aprilia - exhaust note Suzuki - nothing Honda - nothing EBR - Looks better, sounds better, rides better, leaves you smiling |

What I think needs to be mentioned is the fact none of the other bikes in the shootout come anywhere close to the horsepower output of the EBR from 6000 rpm''s to 10,800 rpm's. That's real world horsepower being produced in the rpm range that most people ride in. To me based on that fact along with handling characteristic of the EBR . There's no other bike in the shootout that I would buy. |
