Getting some vibration in the handlebars of my 09 Uly. Front isolator? How do I check it?

Looks like St. Paul HD has them in stock. Hard to replace?

Bad isolator on left; good on the right:

If yours is bad, it's not hard to change. Support the engine with a floor jack near the front of the muffler. Jack up slightly to remove the tension, and unscrew the big bolt. Then remove 2 bolts that secure mount to front head. Installation is reverse of removal; refer to shop manual for torque values.

If your front isolator is OK, check the primary chain adjustment. A loose primary chain will cause vibration.

^ PRIMARY chain. All air-cooled Buells have one.

If you replace the front isolator put some anti seize on the threads of the big bolt. They are prone to rusting.

Just replaced mine. I'm usually pretty apprehensive when it comes to getting into such projects, but this was a breeze. I stabilized the bike with the front wheel on a Harbor Freight wheel chock and supported the engine with a scissors jack. Bolts all came out easy enough, and the new unit bolted right into place.
No problems.

Thanks for all the information! Now I know what to look for.
