I called my local dealership and asked if they had a replacement belt for 2008 XB12X. I was shocked when they said that they did! I drove down and bought it immediately and asked the guy how it was that he had a Ulysses belt. His reply was that it's the same as a big twin or something. Hmmm. The belt in the box has ridges on the outside, not smooth. The numbers on the box are:40307-00B |

Not the correct belt. You need G0500.1AKF |

Thanks. I'll give them a call today when they open. They are usually better than this which is why I left the store with it at all. |

Tuber belts were the same as Sportster belts. That's where the sharing ended - when Buell went to the XB, with the pulley that bends the belt "backwards", they got their own belts. |

I finally got a chance to drive back and return it. Turned out that the computer had a "note" added to it from another employee saying that the wrong belt would work. Same shape size but not ok to bend backwards perhaps? |
