The gearing in my X1 feels way too high. I see about 30mph indicated in first at around 3k rpm. Also I have to downshift to pass on the freeway below 80

I don't do allot of freeway riding. It looks like my only option to lower the gearing is a 26 tooth front sprocket.

Is there a lower primary gear available?

So you have a 27/61 setup?

That was a good question as it turns out.

Thats what I had assumed but apparently some previous owner swapped to a 29T front pulley.

So I have 29/61

You can shorten the gears using an XB 9 primary front sprocket, you will also need the chain.

Or go back to the US spec front pulley.

I'd be happy to relieve you of that 29T pulley. Might even be able to provide you with a 27T in exchange.

For the kind of riding I usually do, the taller gearing of the 29T is more to my liking.

I would actually like slightly lower gearing than stock at least in 1-4.

I am thinking I will either get a 26t front sprocket or get this:

with a 27t or 28t front sprocket.

I have a spare 29 spare front sprocket and a spare 55rear sprocket, I wouldent mind getting a 27 front sprocket, I'm currently using a 28 front sprocket, the light weight ones

12mpghwy I would take lornce up on his trade. I have a 26 tooth on mine, not much difference from 27. Pontlee77 if you need a 27 let me know?
