All after lurking for years I finally purchased a XB12X. Ive spent the last few wks adding items and slowly going thru the bike so it is ready for my travels. What if any diagnostic system/tool do you all recommend for general scanning and maintenance use. It seems like ecmspy and tuner pro are both mentioned a lot but Id like real world opinions from those who know and use these tolls. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Robert |

I bought one of those Buelltooth plugs a few months ago and have used it a couple of times now on three different bikes. Used it to copy the fuel map from my Ulysses to a project bike that also has a Ulysses motor. Used it to set the exhaust valve to 'open' on my friend's Ulysses where someone had removed the valve controller but hadn't adjusted the ECM. Also read and cleared some codes the bikes were throwing. All just seemed to work. Does need an Android phone or a laptop I think? |

As a diagnostic tool, the best choice is obviously a bluetooth gizmo and ECMdroid if you own an Android phone. ECMSpy and TunerPro are both excellent softwares but you'll need to "dig" in to use them, especialy TunerPro, wich isn't Buell specific... You can do many operations with ECMdroid, but you can't display maps. So if you wish to tune your bike, I think you'll have to buy the licence for ECMSpy, according to your ECM firmware. What year is your X ? |
