Just picked up a 2008 1125R from a coworker. Has 2200 miles and was put away 2 years ago due to dead battery. As soon as I purchased the bike I put a new Deka battery in. Cranked over but no start. Blown fuel pump fuse... Changed fuse immediately blows new fuse. Current codes are U0001 Comm, fuel pump system error high, fuel pump system error low, and errors for both fans. Have electric manual but am not to savy with electrical diagnostics. Will be checking for continuity per manual description today. Any thoughts? Bad fuel pump causing all of this? Grounds appear to be ok. Thanks Dan |

google at the top of this page is your friend... Fuel pumps fail due to heat and the 1125r is real furnace at times. The "connector" that goes from outside the bike to inside the fuel tank ("bulkhead connector") has been known to fail electrically. here is a thread describing a fuel pump trouble shooting effort...and the result http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/760318.html?1431529294 hope this helps |

With that low of miles on it the pump didn't over heated. If the fuel pump wasn't covered by fuel during the time it was stored the fuel pump is locked up from being exposed to air for a long time. Time for a new pump would be my guess. |

Thanks guys. After a bit of diagnosing yesterday it does seem that the fuel pump is the culprit. I have replacement scheduled at the dealer near me next Friday. Was going to attempt it myself but after reading up on it I decided to leave it to the pros. Hopefully will be riding soon. Thanks Dan |

Did you connect the battery terminals wrong? |
