If you want a better pic., get your own manual out.

It's hard to take a picture of an LCD screen, isn't Ourdee? |

The trick to taking a picture of a screen is to slow down the shutter of whatever camera you have and hold still. But don't worry about that. we can read it and it's appreciated. |

About the background, like PeeWee Herman said,"I meant to do that". |

I ended up going all redneck on it. While cutting to get the connector out I kept going until I could put the boot back on and get the lights in at the same time.

Not pictured was bailing wire to secure the wires behind the windscreen. Which leaves a remaining question of what light is supposed to go in that hole in the middle? The manual said something about European models only??? |

That's a parking light. My 2008 had the connector there but no bulb installed. I put a cheapy LED bulb there. It works pretty well and doesn't take much current at all. |

I put a SYLVANIA LONGLIFE 194, 4.6 watt bulb in mine. Saved me a ticket one night when I blew the high and low beam bulbs. Looked like I had a very very very dim headlight. And officer friendly looked the other way. It works as a parking light with the key in the position passed lock. |

My new Buell "World" headlight assembly came with a bulb in it. |

If I remember right all 09 and 10 Ulys have the bulb in the socket. I put one in on my 06, but as I haven't had the headlamp assembly off for my 08 I'm yet to put one in, they are only a couple dollars |

Any updates or evolved experience from using this set up? I've actually been riding my Ulysses, now that I am living in the midst of some great riding at the end of the drive way, and the lights (factory with PIAA Halogen lamps and PIAA 5" Halogen aux) just flat suck. Time to change. Eager to do it once and right. |

No news is hopefully good news at this point but I haven't done much riding as my spring two-night camping trip has now been pushed to the first weekend in June. At the very least I'll need to aim the lights but also no night riding yet either. We'll be going from Tail of the Dragon to the Back of the Dragon via the BRP June 3-5 if anyone is in the area. That should give it a proper test. Oh, and the setup I have doesn't involve the separate ballast?/igniter? doohickey. |

I have been only riding in the daytime since putting mine in. Hopefully that will soon change. I will write an update when it happens. I know I'll be fine tuning my aim as I decided to err on the side of caution, aiming low due to the intensity of the light. |

I really aimed it low. I have a short garage up on a hill. Going to take a few tries to get this aimed right. Sure is bright though. |

Now I do not know if I am smart for figuring out that I can open the garage door to the family room to get enough distance for adjusting my headlight, or if I am stupid for not figuring that out earlier. As I get older simple solutions seam to elude me more often. |

The other piece to getting the adjustment correct is that SCG line height is not in the manual. I'll be winging it a little. |

So, it looks like I have got it as high as I feel safe without blinding everyone. I will have to do a little more night riding to be sure. I like the bright light. I would like the bright to be aimed higher but want the low beam a little low. So, it will stay where it is for a while. I liked aiming the halogens a tad high so that signs flickered at night. Have to get used to these. 21 days and I'll ask Matt Loose how they are in his mirrors after dark. Then I will compare them side by side with some OEM bulbs. |
