Since we have recently been discussing fuel pumps and fuel pressure issues both here and on the 1125 forum, I thought this would be a good time to discuss other fuel related issues.

Unfortunately neither HD nor EBR sells anything but preassembled fuel lines. In recent emails with EBR tech, it is apparent they do not approve of any modification to the factory system. Further to this position, you may have noticed that the only way to determine what the fuel line pressure might be in times of trouble is to read the line pressure on the console in diag mode. The problem with this is that you would be using the same system that is acting up. That doesn't leave a lot of confidence with the results and it also prevents viewing any aberrations that may be present. So I have been trying to put together a pressure gauge kit that can be attached. This has been a real journey in frustration. So, I will list my discoveries for those that may wish to go down the same road

1) The standard that the system follows is SAE J2044.
2) Norma makes the fuel line fittings and fuel line the factory uses, but they are not available in small lots retail.
3) Fortunately, Dorman sells J2044 compatible fittings and line and you can buy them on Amazon.com, but they will not ship outside of the USA. The straight fitting is 800-080. The 90 degree fitting is 800-081 both 5/16 steel to 5/16 nylon line. The nylon fuel line is 800-074 (10' length). The installation tool is 800-301. Installation instructions are on the Dorman website and on youtube.
4) There is a short adapter made by no one else but Aeroflow Performance in Australia that is M14 1.5 male to M14 1.5 female with 3 1/8"NPT ports in between. The part number is AF810-M14-02. In comes with 2 NPT plugs and in either anodized blue, black or silver. This adapter can be placed where ever the fuel pressure sensor is or in series with the fuel log ports on the shower injector head. Your choice. To any one of the 3 NPT ports, a line can be attached to a standard analog pressure gauge. I got one in Chine that is graduated in PSI and KP on eBay. The "O" rings used are Buna rubber 11.66mm x 2.2 mm in Dura A hardness 90 and are available everywhere.
5) The thread used on the screw in male J2044 fittings is ORR M14 x 1.5 as well as the fuel pressure sensor which is the same sensor used on the 1125.
6) This information will also allow you build a simple injector tester using the injector mount on the plastic manifold below the throttle body and a simple inexpensive injector pump on eBay.

Why not just test your fuel pressure with a master pressure testing gauge and then fix any issues from there?

Not true. You will need the standard Ford 5/16 adapter on any master kit. I will attach a pick of what i am talking about.

Nice kit. Yes, that will do it. It is probably less expensive than my solution, but I also had the requirement to make custom fuel lines. Out of interest, who makes that, where can they be bought and how much do they cost?

You will be looking for a Master Kit - you can get Matco, Mac, Snap on.. I bought mine used on eBay...and have a MAC set...dont but the $70 version off of Amazon.. they are not accurate. You should be able to find a kit for around $175 but make sure that it has the fitting above (5/16 Ford adapter).

I never found a kit that included that adapter. The bigger problem in that regard was trying to identify that connector. It is used by many other than Ford. I finally figured out the connector complies to SAE J2044. I have been a member of SAE for many years, so I have access to their library. This is information that could be shared by EBR, but they don't.

Here is an example- I can see the adapter... the only thing I would ask about in this particular kit is where the quick disconnect plastic clips are as I can't see them in the pic...

Anyhow, you get the idea.....hope it helps...
