So as not to hijack other threads, I thought it would be best to start a new one on Vintage's mods. Since I'm pressed for time (and it's already taken me some time before I could post what he sent me), I will just post all the info provided so people can ask questions and Vintage can respond.

The bars used were Convertibars

"These 3 pictures somewhat show the bar raise.

1.I used stock SX brake and clutch lines. There are places where you can get new lines made up or extensions for the existing ones in case you cannot get the factory ones.
2.All the stock wire harnesses had enough reach so they weren't compromised. I expect they use(d) the same harness for both models.
3. Here is the MAIN deal that gave me the full lift. You have to cut the tails off the fairing. Cut them just behind the mirror mounts where the metal bracing ends. Everything fell into place when I got rid of those somewhat useless fairing extensions.

Just fiddle with the Converti's until you get them where you want them. They have to fall short of the tank and not hit the windscreen. I was able to get 5" up and 4" back (or so). Make sure your Allen's fit properly and are in full depth 'cause if you strip the heads you will hate yourself.

Make sure you get everything torqued properly before you go for a spin!!

It was just too uncomfortable and radical to ride. The Converti bar install made all the difference.

I will sort out some enhanced wind protection and let you know how that goes. Actually, around 80-you can notice the fairing effect as it creates a nice envelope to ride in. I use a Schuberth 2 helmet which is the best yet for quiet and good airflow.

Good Luck with the mods. I figure, on hacking into the fairing, that EB himself would approve. It made the difference between keeping the bike or not."

"These pics show my funky luggage rack. I was determined to use my old leather bags which have been on umpteen bikes.
I bent up a piece of 1/8 aluminum on the press. The extra shackles shown are to help secure the load that is in the trough area-usually my tent, sleeping bag and air mattress. I use river rafting sacks that fit into the bags for clothes and such. All works well.

1. This is the view from the rear. The two small turnbuckles to some paracord secured to the taillight stalk. Been working fine for 10,000 miles. Make sure to tighten evenly. Between the rack and passenger seat I put a bunch of foam tape to help keep things in place.
2&3 show the forward turnbuckles that attached to the conveniently located lugs on the frame, just forward of the peg mounts.

Regards -- As you probably guessed I never mind being slightly funky as long as things work well. I sprayed all the yellow on the bike with grey Plastidip as the color was attracting too much "heat". The main deal (in my world) is to get out there and put some miles on."

Well, if this thread includes soft bags, I submit the following ideas from the EBR Forum for old stuff I've accumulated and new stuff from Ventura MCA unique to EBR SX/RX's. Oh, scroll down to post #4, doh!
