A couple weeks ago as I was leaving work at night, I fired up the bike and the headlights were out. I ran through the switches to find that the "Flash to Pass" trigger nor the headlight dimmer switch have any effect on the condition. The High Beam indicator light is also now on at all times, regardless of switch position. I also found that the front brake switch is non-op too.
All of this seemed to happen at once, as I didn't notice the brake light switch until the headlight issue came up, but all functions had previously worked.
I checked all of the fuses, even the unrelated ones, to find that all are still in good condition.
I was then hoping that a common ground may be the problem. But here to I am stumped as the headlights share a ground with the horn, which works fine. And the brake shares the fuse with the horn and the rear brake switch works as well.
It seems that the communication from the headlight switch and the front brake switch seemingly failed at the same time. And the headlights, which are recently replaced new units-harness and all.
I can't accept that all of these systems failed coincidentally at the same time while being completely unrelated.
I have yet to pull of the switches to check their functionality, this is next on the list. |

Did you check the grey relays to?
Switch them around and see what happens. |

Common to all these issues is grounds.
Then check the common harness to the left/right handlebar controls.
Hopefully you have a Field Service Manual. |

I don't think your problems are related, it is possible that you only found the brake light problem because you were checking all functions. I've had bad luck with the front brake switches before, I'd jump it to be sure. It's also possible that the headlight failure is the result of the installation of the "new harness and all", I'd go over that, if I were you. |

looking at the Schematic I would suspect the left hand control.I would take it apart and start there first. |
