On occasion I get a high beam indicator when I switch on my ignition. Indicator but no lights or any cranking or power to, it seems, the ECM or a section of the ECM. If I flash my hi beams while running down the road the engine will die for a millisecond and then come right back on, if I switch the ignition on and I have the high beam light on if I sound the horn or otherwise vibrate the bike all goes back to normal. I am thinking perhaps a relay or a bad ground but I am hoping someone has worked through this once before. |

Open and check switch. Change relay. I don't think the ECM sees anything from the headlight circuit, maybe the dash. WHat bike? |

XB1200R 2008 I have the fairing off now and going through basics, ground security, etc. I went to the auto parts store to get a relay and got the blank stare. How do I ask for these relays? Is there an auto equivalent ? |

Bad ground up in the fairing area for sure, when the same thing happens on the Uly and Lightning it is the ground attaching to the steering neck. Since your Firebolt has the ECM and electronics up front, I'm assuming they are losing continuity when the connection breaks causing the running issue. |
