Looks good! looks comfortable. What are the aluminum pieces right behind the swingarm pivot? are those the passenger pegs?? Nice tie down job on the rear shock mounts I'm actually most interested in that trailer, does the whole top lift up and hinge forward?? I've never seen anything like that before(although my knowledge of trailers is fairly limited) |

Thanks, IDK WTF happened to the pix.. crap bucket has been a pain She really cleaned up nice today & I even took a short hop around on her. The posts are for the passenger floor boards The rope just keeps it from swinging side to side, she was well secured in the front. The trailer is actually my snowmobile trailer, I sold the sled & kept the trailer. It is a single sled trailer, basically a giant clam shell & tilting bed. LOVE IT!!! The next best bike transport other than my hitch mount unit. ( this was toooo heavy) Lance, how about some touch up paint for the frame....any chance of that? Yea, Mees.... I KNOW!!! I am assembling the harem, Thinning the heard & gathering some choice picks. I am HOPING to get into single digits by then. ill try n screw w the pix again |

I know we talked about this bike on the phone, but I love it, it looks fantastic. I'll most likely be building an FXR late 2017, but with a worked over 131" motor, 6 speed, and Ohlins . |

That's interesting. I'll have to look some up in google images, I've never seen a trailer like that before. (Ok, I googled, and that looks awesome. Can't believe I've never seen that before) I was just messing around with you about the string, I tend to go way overboard when I strap things down in the truck. |

We have troubles getting touch-up paint from 10 years ago, no chance on 30 years old color. That bike looks in great shape for its year. Good find. I just had a customer that came in last night and has a 2006 XB12X with under 200 miles on it and wants to sell it. Now I just need to get the cash goalie on board with buying it. |

Sorry to piss on your fries but that is the exact opposite of what Erik's vision of what a bike should be. Where is the mass centralisation on it ? It has no place on a Buell forum of any description. No matter what age it is or condition it is God damned awful a real POS. My poor eyes |

Erik Buell was heavily involved in designing the FXR, particularly the rubber mounting, which he later repurposed the same mounts to the tube frame Buells. That is where the connection is. |

And . . . it was damn near this very time of the year. Erik flew from sunny Florida . . . where he had interviewed at one of the 3 offers he had coming out of college. He still winces when he describes arriving in Milwaukee, in the dead of winter, to a bleak and frigid environment and then receiving the most modest offer of the 3 choices. But . . . . it was MOTORCYCLES ! ! . . and . . . "Kid Slughi" had found a home that allowed him to put his passion on paper. and then move it to two wheels. The deal was sealed and we've been treated to some amazing things. Had things been just a touch different . . . we might be seeing innovative aircraft with innovative suspension and unusual wing configurations. But . . . as a result of Erik following his heart . . . the way has been paved for many of us, including K12 pilot with his 27 motorcycles, to do the same. And now you know . . . . . The rest of the story. |

@Davekh - Do yourself a favor and look in to the history of Buell Motorcycles. You have an excellent pair; I have a 1991 Westwind, 2008 1125R, 2009 XB12X and a 2012 1190RS Carbon. NOBODY designs a motorcycle like Erik, not even Britten or Vincent. The FXR is the best handling H-D ever released, frame/suspension designed by our very own Erik. Oh yeah - Welcome to BadWeB! Zack |

I wasn't following the "Buell Soul" part of the title. After perusing this thread I learned a few things about EB, and now I get it. That's why I like it here, free and open exchange. It's all about motorcycles in general and I always learn something here. Cool find! On another note, I like the FX and FL models. I recently restored a 1990 FLSTF for a close friend to honor his father and brother. He also honored the the crew of the "Enola Gay", a lot of folks scratch their heads on that one...

(A lot of folks scratch their heads on that one). Fat boy Harley, "little boy" first atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima by Paul Tibbets and crew. Other atomic bomb dropped was "Fat Man", on Nagasaki. Feel free to make your own conclusions. |

Looks like a non-CV Kehin to me. My '79 sportster had one of those. I wasn't impressed. |

"Feel free to make your own conclusions" Yes, that is the story. However I have never been able to substantiate that fact. Supposedly it is just urban legend. IDK |

The "Fat Boy" moniker had nothing to do with anything other than JW birthing something out after a couple beers in a Deerfield bar. |

No S&S CRAPPOLLAA!! Kehin. I'm not impressed either prolly going to throw a CV on it for now. When/as those old gaskets start to leak I will tweak it a bit here & there, nothing noticeable as it is bone stock as it sits other than the police floorboards. Very Nice build Vince, And for a good cause.... which reminds me... I ned to call you |
