I have decided to quit running the Sportster on the drag strip and build an 1125 drag bike. First thing does any one know what the weight of the motor with injectors is? Does anyone know what the weight of a VRod motor is? Just curious about the engine weight don't need the exhaust, muffler or radiators. I figure this will take a year to put together drag racing again in 2015. |

Any updates on this? In the process of getting a crashed bike and thougths of using almost everything except the frame to do a dragbike. Figure with 150hp (crank) in an actual drag chassis that it could easily be a low 10 bike. |

Before a bunch of folks jump down my intakes, please note.. 1. I believe this came from a twins forum. 2. It says car# 71 but it was touted as a Buell 1125R 3. My date of my rip of the slip is March 15, 2011 11:09 PM 4. I would think this nearly impossible w/o wheelie bars if at all. Has anyone else ever seen this pic touted for an 1125R & what was the original context? Also, I vaguely remember that some aircraft admin/tech guy owned an XBRR and was going to (or did) run his XBRR for a goal of 200 mph at some flying mile meet. I know I am getting old but I am not in the mode of inventing Buell crap. Just trying to find out if others have seen or heard of the above?

I know of a guy in Florida who did an extended arm on his 1125R, but not sure of his times. 9.4 is dang quick, I'd be skeptical without knowing more information about the bike and rider |

"I'd be skeptical without knowing more information about the bike and rider" Exactly my point. Thanks for summing it up in one line. Now if there is some way to get the above picture out to enough folks, one might have the info needed. On a similar note. The difference between a 400 meter and a 1/4 mile ET is eight feet shorter on the 400m. It is shown on this video that an XBRR had an ET of 8.98 seconds in a 400 meter run. That is really moving for a push rod, air cooled, V twin and Erik built them. Cool!! http://www.gaskrank.tv/tv/hersteller/buell-xbrr-15 69.htm Parle vous france? |

I dont buy the sub-9 second run out of that bike either. Short wheelbase bike, not a ton of HP, and not at an official track/timing system. What did the XBRR have, 150hp? Ok, and Destroyers have that much in a drag-friendly chassis that STILL didnt do 9 flats Think about the liter bikes (or larger, like Hayabusa) that have FAR more than 150hp, but dont have the torque to deal with off the line like the XBRR had, as well as a little longer wheelbase...they still arent in the 8s either. Again, Im skeptical for several reasons. |

Stock Gen 1 Busa has at most 160 hp, and don't for a moment think these bikes don't make torque-- again a stocker will make over 100 ft/lbs. A long arm, air shifter, shift light and a Shinko will be in the 9's.Heck my 1999 750 Gix went mid to low 10's with those mods, making 135 hp.I ran a stock 1125 to mid 10's. And time slips always say car-- at least here at Sonoma-- I ran last night. (Message edited by firemanjim on November 17, 2016) |

Absolutely with mods they can run some good numbers with a good rider. I just dont see a XBRR running those numbers, and def dont see a 1125R running low 9s without EXTENSIVE work. |
