Wondering if the same year Sportster cable will fit, or do I need the "Buell" part? |

The number is 29229-88D and retail is $14.24. These are the same on HD models. |

I can't recall but isn't there one with a metal threaded section from a Mikuni that will work as well? |

The Mikuni part that fits is also plastic - just don't over-torque it, 1 ft-lb is plenty. |

Here's what I used on my old S1: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIKUNI-CARB-CHOKE-CABLE-HS R-FOR-HARLEY-42-45-48-CV-/141293765419 It's been a while but I think the cable mounting slot in the bracket had to be opened up a little bit. (Message edited by SteveFord on December 30, 2016) |

Already got the Harley part and mounted it, but this one looks to have more metal in it. |

Speaking of choke cables, can anyone help me with the one on my Westwind?(1991 RS1200) I got it with a cable like the one y'all are talking about - The Westwind had a cable going to a bicycle shift lever up by the handlebars. |
