disclaimer Im doing this on a smart phone because I'm to lazy to try to put the pics on a computer so Grammer is pretty much out the window typing on the tiny keyboard. So here goes So that the bike Its stock all I added was a windshield saddle bags and if u look close I taped a phone holder to the tank to use as Gps also got a USB port for the battery tender pretty nifty thing. This is in front of my old barracks on camp lejeune Nc. So the first leg was from there to Charleston SC (sorry I took some pics but my phone didn't save them ) then from there I Headed into GA. Heres the bike at families house in Byron GA I ditched a little backpack and some clothes band picked up a 2.5 gallon gas can. Left GA and headed to my buddies place in Oxford Mississippi about an 8 hr day stop by a natural land bridge on the way. It took about 8 hours from Byron to Oxford pretty boring drive I have to admit. Few pics from Oxford my buddies dog and one of the Jeep's in his fleet of trucks I'm gonna skim over the next section a bit Oxford till I got to Palo duro canyon here's a few pics of Oklahoma and Arkansas Then I got to Palo duro it's about an hour south on amaretto tx it pretty awesome my pictures don't do it justice u can't really see the elevation change and the stars out there are neat I camped at the bottom of the canyon. From there I Headed to Albuquerque only planned on staying a night ended up staying there really fun city good night life and the mountains are awesome. Stayed at route 66 hostel pretty good bargain. From there I Headed to flagstaff az great ride lots of scenery changes stayed the night in the painted desert on the way and saw the petrified Forest once I got to flagstaff I stayed at the motel DuPont it's a hostel pretty fairly priced flagstaff is a good city to see a lot of Arizona from in little day trips.heres some pics of the grand canyon Sedona and cottonwood area Stayed a few days In flagstaff then headed down to Prescott by way of Sedona and Jerome the ride between Jerome and Prescott is fun twistys the whole way perfect roads for the blast scenic to. Prescott is nice if you can get over all the druggies and rehab patients but the roads in the area are great for riding white spar might be the best road I've ever drove none of the crowdedness you get on some of the blue ridge roads like tail of the dragon and all the twistys. Don't really have any good pics of it it's kinda hard to capture a road In a picture anyway. From Prescott I Headed out white spar and than back north thru Baghdad/ skull valley heading towards kingman I went through a big preserve and did a bit if dual sporting. Camped in kingman pretty in memorable town then headed out for Vegas pretty neat ride there when and road over the hoover dam but parking was 10 bucks so I didn't stop stayed in a hostel in Vegas hostel cat I think don't really remember gambled away 30 buck and ate at the top of the stratosphere and some crackhead stole my gas can so I had to make a harbor freight stop. Then I Headed south to sandy valley primm and goodsprings much more my type of place really wished I was on a dual sport out there lots of good trails to do it looked like camped out there for a while (illegally) but free stopped by the pioneers salon pretty awesome place there was probably 50 bikes there of all varieties theres alit parked out back u can't see in the pics they are hiring I'll post a pic of that in case someones interested this was a few weeks ago through From there I Headed back south the way I came towards bisbee az I camped outside Prescott and stayed in a hotel in Tucson on the way bisbee was a real neat little town lots of fun hotels are pricey though and there's no tent camping. Pic of bisbee copper mine I got pretty sick in bisbee so I went and stayed in a motel in Sierra vista for 2 days then I Headed back east it was getting a little cold for my taste I took 10 back whent to silver city on day 1 then ozona tx then Belmont tx then the last leg to Tampa 16 hr on a blast in one day pretty miserable I didn't really take any pics on the way back half the trip back was miserable cold 30s and twenty's so I was kinda just pushing to get back Louisiana was pretty neat though most of the time I was on bridges and the Capitan mountains where cool but it was frickin freezing all and all it was a pretty dope trip though and I did it all from buying the bike to foid for the price of a down payment on a new Harley. |
