Haven't decided if I want to go with a supertrapp which would need a new header or have my race header crack welded for now. I like the idea of easy repacking but the race can has a nice sound like a 1000 lb wolf howling. Well, at least not in the US, but things were different over the years with HDI (international, such as Europe) bikes. I want to say that the 1998 S3 HDI bikes had a 2" exhaust where the DOM (Domestic) bikes we enjoyed in the states had the 2.5" exhaust. I'm not sure how long that was the case, but if the 1999 - up HDI S3's also had the 2" exhaust and the 1999 - up X1's had the 2.5" exhaust, then the X1 would appear 'a bit more spicy'.
