So I picked up a 1125 the other day - no title, it was a totaled bike. Also, NO KEY. Was lost in the accident. How could I go about getting a key to open the gas tank, rear compartment, and, of course, the ignition? |

Your local buell dealer can order you a pair of key by the vin number. This only will work if the locks haven't been changed after it was built. Dealers are required to confirm ownership of the motorcycle to a matching iD. They cost about $30 for a pair. |

If you have the bill of sale with a matching ID might also work. |

How about a rubbing of the VIN; anyone can take a pic with their phone, taking a piece of paper and a pencil to someone else's bike would probably get you a few bruises! With a bill of sale? |

Remove the ignition/steering lock and go to a good locksmith for having a key made. |

How about just replace the entire lock set. They are always for sale on fleabay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/08-Buell-1125CR-Lock-Set-I gnition-Switch-Cap-And-Keys-/162299724602?fits=Mak e%3ABuell&hash=item25c9d1433a:g:JpQAAOSwal5YLj~Q&v xp=mtr |

I like Terry's idea the best--just replacing all of the locks with a matched set. That's what I'd do, a cooperative dealership notwithstanding. |
