Has anyone ever tried one of these on a tuber? I'm tired of trying to get mine adjusted while trying not to burn all of my skin off, even with my gloves on. I only see them listed for different dirtbikes and atvs, but I'm sure one of them probably uses a CV carb like my S1. I think a lot of them use FCRs, but if anyone knows of a dirtbike that happens to use the same carb, or has used one of these on a buell, I'd love to hear about it. http://www.motosport.com/product?psreferrer=https% 253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F&pssource=true&se gment=badger&key=RD-Flex-Jet-Fuel-Mixture-Screw&cc =us&adpos=1o3&creative=93575775025&device=c&matcht ype=&network=g&product_id=RND-FJ-001&gclid=CNym172 Hw9ACFQtMDQodh6ANCg |

Dont you have the throttle adjustment screw cable coming off the carb out from under the tank on the right side. Look close on this pic right above the carb

I do, this is for the fuel mix screw on the bottom of the carb. The one that requires you to weave your hand in between your exhaust headers with a mini screwdriver to adjust the carb with the engine at full temperature.
I know they also make those thumb screws, which would also be a little better than the normal option, but not by much.

I guess I have never had an issue. I set the carb up off the bike per oldschool boys recommend setup and it rips? |

Last time I cleaned it out I set it at 2.5 turns out, which is what I see everyone on the site recommending, but it always gives me a hassle starting it when the engine is cold, so I figure getting that screw set properly couldn't hurt. Even after the last time I cleaned it, I still have the same 3k rpm sputter, and my choke still isn't working, so it's gonna get pulled off again before spring so I can try cleaning it out a little better and make see what size jets I have in there. |

An RPM stutter is a jetting issue and/or a gunk issue. I've never had to adjust a mix screw. Set it on the bench, install it, and use the remote idle adjuster to baseline it. |

I know the stutter isn't caused by the fuel mix screw, I just brought that up to mention that I was already planning on pulling the carb off again. I was hoping that getting that adjusted perfectly would help the bike start a little easier. The choke didn't work when I got the bike. I hoped rebuilding carb would've fixed that, but it didn't help, and actually made that stutter a little worse than it was before. As of now every time I start the bike I have to turn the idle way up, and then keep turning it back down as the engine warms up, especially when it's under 50 degrees out, and I've gotta sit there hitting the starter over and over for a minute or two. |

Given the cold start issues, might do to replace the intake manifold gaskets. Sounds like they might be in distress . . . |

Have some new gaskets too. I switched a few of them last time, but still need to replace the manifold/head gaskets, since I didn't the right wrench at the time to be able to fit in that tight spot to loosen up those bolts. |
