Well technically, it is violence involving a firearm..... But seriously, I'm pretty sure the Bradybunch just make up their "gun violence" statistics. So this incident won't even be one pixel on their stupid graphs. That having been said, what are your opinions of a PTR? Those have been interesting me recently. Especially since recently Maura Healey banned ALL AR15-related weapons in my god-forsaken state by imperial fiat. |

They're good. Reportedly not terribly accurate or smooth shooting but it's a long established and enduring design. |

The PTR's. Glocks are good. I like them, but I don't like them. |

I've got my upper for my 9mm SBR project on layaway. It's a 16" now, but will be a 10" once I get my tax stamp back (and it gets paid off). It was cheaper as a rifle upper, and would need to be cut shorter, anyway. Next year sometime... |

You mean the lesson isn't always more government, more regulations, and further infringement on individual liberties? I guess being instilled with proper values and a good upbringing is too much to ask. This collectivist thinking is too much, man. |

Congressman Danny Davis makes over $170,000 a year, how selfish of him to allow his grandson to grow up in the dangerous South Side of Chicago (with bad, bad, Leroy Brown). |

The kid being killed over shoes is a tragedy. Here's the problem. It's Chicago, so the gun was likely obtained illegally. It's illegal for the kid to be in possession of the gun and it's REALLY illegal to kill someone. What part of more gun laws would have prevented this? |

What part of more gun laws would have prevented this? Only armed confiscation, but the gun grabbers fall into two groups: Those who understand and embrace that and hide behind "common sense" type slogans Feel good utopians who think that Gun Free signs work and aren't Sitting Duck signs in reality. A non-owning friend thinks that universal background checks is just fine, but when I point out that it would mean that, if he had a gun, he couldn't loan it to his son for a day at the range, without the son going through a check every time, he has no answer. |

http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2016/11/28/active-s hooter-reported-at-ohio-state-university/ Apparently if I slaughter a bunch of people with a club I'm a "shooter". Really time to fight back against those who lie with words in this manner. Any "News" organization that uses the term "shooter" to describe crazy people violence should be called by an accurate and mocking name at every opportunity. Anti-civil rights shills? Hmm... too long. Open to suggestions. Anti-rights...Pro-police state. Repetition is the key to selling. Lie all the time is the tactic of the Left. We need to be truthfully sarcastic. |

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/443143/gun-r ights-reciprocity-constitution This would be welcome news to anyone who travels this nation and is in fear of being imprisoned in the gulag for having forgotten every single unconstitutional law against the peasants by the radical aristocracy. Especially the, no doubt, few, scoflaws that just decide to exercise their rights quietly and drop the cruise control a few mph when passing through enemy territory. |

So, I've purchased another receiver set to make a dedicated buffer tube-less 22lr AR pistol for dedicated use with a suppressor, as well as a bulk of the parts. In the interest of reducing longstanding resentments I've decided to make a price list for the wife detailing my proposed remaining parts purchases for the year. Wish me luck. |

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/01/th e_wilding_of_america.html Want to save the Elephants? Import some into America and Canada and open a hunting season. No. Seriously. I've followed various ecology minded groups for decades. The Sierra club started as a group to preserve wilderness so they could go camp & hike there. Today it's a club for virtue signalling for rich aholes who live in private compounds with armed guards and don't want the peasants allowed in the woods. Heck, I own a Sierra Cup. Yeah, I'm that old. Btw the founder of Facebook actually lives in the kind of place special forces raid in other countries. Heavily armed private compounds. Usually seen in movies with fake satellite images with snipers & guard shacks. Otoh.... Ducks Unlimited. Multiple species that would have vanished from the hemisphere is in full bloom with the deliberate protection of their environment against housing development by legal and morally sound means. They buy the swamp. Raise money with appeals, sure, but the bulk comes from dinners where sporting goods, paintings of ducks & geese, & doggy accessories are auctioned off to willing, smart, real eco-warriors. My kid sister won a fly casting rig. They've got duck stamp paintings on the wall. I support the National Wild Turkey Federation. There are more of Ben Franklin's favorite bird today than when I was born. More than the last century. Ditto Elk. ( yep there's a club. ) There's more deer in my yard as I write this than in the county a century ago. Want to save the cute critter that is always the prime cause of the fabulously wealthy? The ones on overpriced t shirts? Hunt them. |

Let me be clear. American and Canadian hunters. The most reviled by the urban ignorant provincial rubes are the best conservators of nature. ( unlike the urban ignorant who consume eight times their mass in resources a day....... or was that Aardwolves? ) |

Meh. The left is too busy trying to make killing human fetuses free and crying in faux outrage over trophy hunting while trying to understand the emotional state of livestock. ...oh...and getting naked covered in fake blood en-masse against something about animals. That one's actually kinda hot. Still don't get the point. |

Heh.... Rick, while I never joined the anti-war movement in the hopes of getting laid by hippie chicks, unlike some, I did appreciate the rebellion against bras & modest clothing. As an esthetic thing of course. Taste is taste. I didn't realize until I was doing historical recreation stuff how much I liked various era's fashions. Nor until I started teaching armored combat how much fun it is to strap a young lady into leather & steel gear. Then teach her to kill. Needless to say I'm looking forward to the Wonder Woman movie. A rich history of 75 years of feminist icon. ( plus Gal Godot looks like a demigoddess ) |

On topic a bit more..... looking at pocket sized 9mms. Prefer the Ruger to a Kahr on looks but do seek advice. Willing to learn a new operating system & don't think the 1911 system proper for pocket holster carry. Opinions? those suggesting a .45 will not be mocked, I can handle the recoil..... but it's got to be light & hidable. In N.Y. concealed means invisible. |

Might I suggest the kimber micro carry, or any number of nearly identical mini 1911 models. They carry concealed very well. And if you use the underwood 380 ammo, they are pretty effective in their ability to drop bad guys. |

They have some really nice 9mm 1911s now. The one I am partial too but have not purchased is the Springfield EMP. It's light, 3" barrel and holds 9 rounds in the single stack clip. Also, I think it was designed for the 9mm round from the ground up unlike some 9mm 1911s. Gets great reviews. |

Also, if you don't like 1911s, I really like the Springfield XD-S, specifically the 4 inch version. |
