President-Elect Trump Meets With Media Executives Off The Record By Sundance, Nov. 21, 2016
It would appear the greatest media concern is President-Elect Trumps ability to communicate directly to the U.S. electorate without needing the filter of corporate media. This potential new media irrelevance seems to lie at the heart of the MSM's current angst.
Interestingly, Donald Trump is meeting with several executives and media personalities today in Trump Tower for an off-the-record [emphasis in original - FB] discussion:
quote:
(Via CNN) [ ] The meeting will involve Trump, Conway and representatives from ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and Fox News. (NBCs cable news channel MSNBC is included in the NBC invitation, Conway noted.)
Some of the top network anchors are traveling or on vacation this week, but others will be in attendance, the Trump aide said. Several executives from the networks will also be there.
Another source said ABC News president James Goldston and anchors George Stephanopoulos, David Muir, and Martha Raddatz are expected to attend.
There is much for the group to talk about. Trump has long-standing relationships with many in the TV news business but he also waged an anti-media crusade [NOTE: Because the media waged an anti-Trump crusade (which is still ongoing) - FB] during his campaign for president.
There are many looming questions about whether Trump will provide the same levels of press access that past presidents have permitted, like a traveling press pool and regular news conferences.
I just watched several videos by Paul Joseph Watson on Butt Hurt and cultural matters... pop music & modern art.
It's definitely preaching to the Choir, and he's a bit profane for some, but I laughed at some of it.
I'm publicly anti PC. I see no reason to respect a Soviet anti-free-speech technique, at all, at all. So encouraging others to wear offensive Halloween costumes does make me giggle.
Just realize that the indoctrinated among us who watch the Propaganda TV 24/7 are convinced Donald is a Racist Homophobic Monster who will slaughter children.
Seriously. They really believe this. Rachel Maddow told them so. They insist they watched Donald through the election and heard him say HATEFUL things... things...
Well, they didn't. They watched other people tell them that Donald said hateful things. They couldn't stand to watch him.
And to be fair to the ones running around calling for his daughter to be raped.... well, to be fair they should be sent to prison.
Ok, to be fair to the people who hate Trump So MUCH they are literally shaking with rage, Trump has said some stupid stuff. He didn't spend a year hiding from the press and then lying to script about his crimes and corruption. He didn't refuse to answer any questions his campaign staff didn't approve first.. or write.
It's Trump's Persona I don't like. I don't have a clue what he's like when he is not on stage, so he may well be able to fake up a different public face at will, but I kinda doubt it.
Not like Hillary who fakes a bad black accent in one church and a bad New Englander one in another. Tells the Greenies she's going to kill Coal, Wall Street she's going to serve them well, and Socialists she hates Wall street. Her persona is whatever it has to be at that second. Unlike Bill, she's just not as good at lying all the time. Hey, few people are.
President-Elect Trump Releases Transition Message Directly to American People By Sundance, Nov. 21, 2016
If there was any doubt that Donald Trump was going to usher in a new American era of communication where the mainstream corporate media were made irrelevant, well, this should answer the question.
Using Facebook HERE and social media (Dan Scavino and Jason Miller) President Elect Donald Trump releases a video message (directly to the American electorate) updating everyone on the Transition Team objectives and reaffirming the already announced goals for the first 100 days.
Worth noting, late last night President Obama was still pitching his Trans-Pacific Trade Deal (TPP) during a press conference in Peru. President-Elect Donald Trump, within this video, states his immediate intent to eliminate the U.S. involvement in this TPP construct.
Additionally, when you consider the timing of this release (immediately following the media summit in Trump Tower), its transparent that President Donald Trump intends to make the filters of the corporate media irrelevant, with an effective emphasis on getting out his own administration message directly to the people.
This approach is an existential financial threat to the livelihoods of corporate media executives and associated operatives.
No one, no one, not a single other candidate, could ever assemble the constructs for such a paradigm shift in governmental communication. This stuff is off-the-charts breaking new territory.
Boy oh boy, what a great time to be alive. This stuff is intensely interesting and historic.
I can't speak for the blacks or the Latinos, but I think I can speak for the gays-
We did notice that Trump invited Caitlyn to use the bathroom of her choice and I think we were delighted that she took him up on that and that it was a generally splendid experience for all those involved. But we also noticed Trumps willingness to campaign with the most conservative religious voting blocs who would definitely work very actively to take gay rights away.
Trump's willingness to throw away the best parts of his character and campaign with the worst, perhaps invented uber masculine character, was a tremendous threat. What good is a gay advocate in the White House if he's so willing to deny his own advocacy? I think gays were relieved that Trump said he would not (immediately) repeal Obamacare, a seemingly central part of his campaign. So maybe it seems to us that Trump cannot be taken literally, we must wait to see action before we can approve or disapprove.
It will be fascinating to see who complains about what and against which other groups when action begins.
Just curious, why do you think you can speak for all gay people? Isn't that just as big of a fallacy as assuming that a black person speaks for all black people? I do value your opinion...you've contributed much to this forum...but your opinion is just that. As is mine.
That's true, I just don't know of any other out gays on the channel, so I sort of *have* to speak for the gays.
I think I do speak with many more gays than most people on this channel. I do have to say there are many gays who are waaaaay more horrified with the election results than I am.
We did notice that Trump invited Caitlyn to use the bathroom of her choice
I'm still waiting for someone to be offended by gays being lumped together with tranny's. Seriously, if a girl likes other girls (or a dude likes other dudes), she's somehow the same as a dude who chops his penis off and thinks that makes him a girl? isn't that askew or tangent to being gay? That's like sticking ford emblems on a chevy and then being lumped together with motorcycles, or something.
I don't believe either one is right but in a republic, as I understand it, we all have protected rights, and that's the best part of a republic vs a democracy. In a democracy, if 51% believe men shouldn't cut their balls off, then it's illegal. In a republic, you can still do that. It protects my freedom of religion, and your right to cut your balls off.
Or your right to be gay, which is not the same thing as cutting your balls off, and i'm still waiting for someone who is gay to stand up and say that. I haven't seen it yet.
If your button is Obamacare, then you have some cause for concern.
If it's prejudice, you have nothing to worry about. Not only is Trump not going to push some Social Conservative Agenda, his team I've seen so far would block any such move.... and the D's might even remember to do their job and vote any idiocy down.
Anyone who is horrified has to ask themselves what is horrible?
There won't be any concentration camps ( in fact, less than there are now under Obama ) and an anti-crime agenda isn't a bad thing.
If they are basing their panic on what The View tells them? I have no idea how to get them to realize they are being lied to.
Trump willing to use the Social Conservatives ( aka the uptight ) to get things done is fine. It's not like he's going to listen to them. He didn't all last year. You hire the guys to do their jobs, not yours.
I'm still waiting for someone to be offended by gays being lumped together with tranny's.
Well that would have to be a gay being offended, right? And some are. When you are part of an oppressed minority, you have to stick together in front of the camera. I assure you, there's a lot of disagreement on who likes who behind the scenes.
I admit I've completely given up on the nuances of alternative sexuality as far as labels go. I often have to get things explained in simple terms, and the breadth of preference is staggering, but it's a tiny minority. I learn new things all the time.
Offer kindness and understanding and you won't be completely wrong. If understanding eludes you, fall back on principle.
After all, what goes on behind closed doors between consenting adults is none of my, yours, or the government's damn business.
Period.
( that doesn't mean I can't mock Texas Dildo Laws.... that's just too easy a target )
The SO and I have been saying for almost a year, that Hillary uses 100 words to say something when she should use 20 (like all politicians).
Donald uses 10 words when he should use 30 (like people who don't like wasting time). He sometimes leaves out the adjectives, nouns and verbs that would convey his message much more clearly.
If you are used to and expect him to speak like a politician, you are going to find something to be upset about.
As far as courting the religious right, and offering an olive branch to brucaitlyn, isn't that what a true uniter does? Reach out to both sides? Even if they don't agree with their choice of lifestyles or opinions? (religious and transgender)
My little brother is gay and while he did not vote (don't understand that one), he is indifferent about Trump winning. His only comment was "If he actually brings back jobs and improves the economy, who cares if he is an . Maybe that's what's needed to get the job done and stop the pussification of our country".
I don't think an Obamacare repeal would disproportionately affect gays, I only think Trump's refusal to (immediately) repeal Obamacare suggests to many people initially horrified by his campaign rhetoric that he is not as crazy as his campaign promises taken literally.
For ObamaCare - it significantly depends on what the gears are and not the talking points. Neither he nor Ryan have the gears, they just have bold new stickers for the same old sh*t DAMHIK
Trump has been skirting the MSM more than Obama has been skirting Congress!
From the beginning Trump has shown the MSM who is boss given them no respect for their perfidy and complicity with the Clintons and political/money elite, and hasnt begged for coverage.
TRUMP HAS HIS OWN MEDIA FOLLOWING that has been growing daily despite social media mogul interference:
I don't consider any of those "social Media" companies anything close to credible media. Propaganda forums maybe. Fake news outlets for sure. Narcissistic behavior enablers most definitely.
^ I don't do Twitter, Facebook or Instagram; I posted-up the above stats to illustrate Trump's massive following on these platforms, and how the numbers continue to rise.
One of the reasons Trump was successful in his bid for the presidency is that he successfully broke through the mainstream media firewall and got his message out to the public in spite of the MSM. One of the major reasons for this accomplishment was (and continues to be) his use of non-mainstream avenues to disseminate information, including Facebook, Twitter, etc.
You or I may not utilize these resources but Trump does, quite effectively.
I don't consider any of those "social Media" companies anything close to credible media. Propaganda forums maybe. Fake news outlets for sure. Narcissistic behavior enablers most definitely.
I would never use them or visit them.
It's not that those companies provide unbiased anything. It's that Trump can use them to completely skip the MSM filter. I saw the talking about that this morning on the news. Trump released a message directly on YouTube. You can go see it, unfiltered, unedited, in it's complete context. You can then share it where you like. It's a big to the media that has portrayed him so dishonestly. Only time will tell how well it works out for him. It's not like BO wasn't praised for his use of social media 8 years ago.
The mainstream media is the prime outlet for Democrats, progressives, so called liberals, statists, collectivists, SJW's and the like. Pretty much hypocritical cultural Marxist news networks.
I've had people on social media enlighten me with their "Critical Race Theory." If you tell them the concepts just promote socialism and cultural Marxism they get mad, tell you to check your privilege, call you a flurry of names, and mock the ignorance to their enlightened state of being.
