Author Message   D_adams Posted on Sunday, November 06, 2016 - 08:45 am:        I was going to sell it, but after all this work, I'm not so sure now. 7+ years old, only 13k miles. Fresh tires 6 months ago with all of only 1500 miles on them, new bearings everywhere outside (wheels, swingarm, steering stem), new comfort kit, tie bars, isolators front and rear. Had the front and rear suspension refreshed yesterday, so I'm hoping the weird handling issues go away shortly.   Njloco Posted on Sunday, November 06, 2016 - 10:08 am:        First off, I really like your work shop, so much space. Though I don't know what weird handling issues you have, yes, by all means, after doing that much work, no way I would get rid of a great bike ! I also have a triumph explorer 1200, yes it's much faster, but doesn't handle as well as the ully, yes it can go off road on hard packed roads but, not be as nimble as the ully. If I drop the ully, I can pick it up myself, if I drop the Explorer I'm stuck until someone gives me a hand, both great bikes. It's unfortunate that a 2009 ully would need that much work with so little milage, but with all of the bearing issues I've heard about, it's probably a good idea, from the pictures, the rubber your replacing looks to be dried out. The secret for dried out rubber is linseed oil, only problem with this is any adhesives will probably be adversely affected and keep it away from the paint. I have a 2008 Ully, with 12,000+ miles, I don't look forward to having to do the work you are doing but, at least I know I can. I have put 40k on it. Tires, a stator, TPS shaft and fluids is all she has needed.
