I'm sure there would a few of these parts gathering dust on shelves after various tail 'clean-ups'? |

I think it would great if the entire Uly could be presented like the above two posts. Exploded views and part numbers. How about it there Froggy? |

So long as this diagram is up, which part needs to be removed in order to defeat the lock mechanism? Just the pin (9)? |

All the Buell models parts diagrams are accessible at Twin Motorcycle's site: http://www.twinmotorcycles.com/webshop/searchparts .asp The Buell part numbers are listed for each part in the list below the diagram. So you can either order the part from them, or take the part number to your local HD dealer and buy it there. |

It's amazing to me . . . . as thrilled as I am that they did what Buell should have done. . . . that Twin Motorcycles takes documents that are marked COPYWRITED and replaces the information as if it were their information. While I understand no one, at this point, is going to pursue copywriter violations, that's akin to me putting my name on Mark Twain's work. |

I'm glad they support the brand, but they have played fast and loose with intellectual property for as long as I've been watching them. I don't know what NL's IP laws look like. |

I'm on the same page. I am thrilled they are doing it, could care less about the laws, just personally miffed that someone would label someone else's work and property as their own. No biggie . . . just different from the way I do things. |

Court, I get it. Credit where credit's due. It is inside you or it isn't. I don't care who takes credit for my suggestions when the results fulfill my goals. I do think less of the Plagiarist though. It would be easy to credit the source. I am thinking out loud here; Do copyrights have to be renewed every so often? |

>>>Do copyrights have to be renewed every so often? It kind of varies . . . But, the salient issue, in this case is affixing another name. If a James Michener book has a copyright expire . . . I can't write By Court Canfield on the front and sell it. It's not so much a big deal here and I am thrilled that Dris and company are doing all they are doing to support the brand. It's just a bit of an ethical detail that gives me, personally, pause. |

They bought 2 of my throttle shafts and then copied them and started selling them for twice as much. Nothing illegal but not what I consider kosher. |

If they were going to make their own anyways, why did they bother to buy a couple in the first place? Surely, that could have just measured an OEM one as you had without paying you anything? Perhaps they didn't anticipate how popular they would be? That's F'ed up anyways. |

Surely, that could have just measured an OEM one as you had without paying you anything? Tootal's part is an improvement over the OEM part with a slot in the shaft for the butterfly rather than a flat being machined in the shaft. They actually copied his improved design. Yea, that's kind of crummy. |

And while we're being honest, my design was taken from the design of both the Keihin CV Harley carburetors and also Weber Side Draft DCOE's. Both of which I have a lot of experience with. The design of the Buell vendor was for easy manufacturing. Cutting a flat is so easy compared to a slot. Now both the Keihin and Weber are also cut flat do they don't block the air but I erred on the side of strength since not too many people were racing their Uly's! Chad being one exception! |
