Well, went down to the DemoDay/SlingBag game bright and early Saturday morning. Got there before the demo rides were scheduled to start. The signup sheet was full, filled before I got there. I saw the boxes the sling bags were in though. Hope everyone had a good time on their demo rides, and I hope everyone who actually got a bag enjoys it. They had one guy call in who wasn't sure if he was going to still go on the demo ride that afternoon. Rick said I could hang around and see if a slot opened up. I didn't feel like hanging out for several hours so I left. I think I'm done.

I noticed you didn't find time to stop in here on Sat! I know, I know, it's a long way out of the way from Road America. I'll see you on the 15th! Dave |

Dave....what's your schedule for this week? I'm looking at Tuesday or Wednesday (leaning more towards Wednesday). I might sneek out of work early and take the long way to Appleton. I still haven't had a chance to really ride the S1. |

Hello everyone, Well it time for the annual Slimey Crud Run near Madison this Sunday. For those of you that have never been to a Slimey Crud Run, which includes myself, the run is an informal gathering of all types of motorcycles. Everyone brings out their antiques, customs, war bikes, and rat-bikes. The XB9 even showed up there a few years back before it was “officially” released to the public. There is a gathering of bikes in Pine Bluff (just southwest of Madison) then everyone takes their leisurely time and their own route to Leland. It’s a good time and there is a good chance to see almost every kind of bike known to man. Brew City will be leaving Hal’s HD/Buell at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. We will be taking the direct route there and then see what happens after Pine Bluff. In order to make Pine Bluff when everyone is still there, we WILL be leaving Hal’s at 7:30a.m. SHARP. I hope to see you there on Sunday. Until then, ride safe and as always enjoy the ride. Jerry

Words to the wise: two wheel drifts around corners in three-way intersections is a very good way to see how awake you are. There is lots of runoff debris out that way this time of year, actually any time it rains or when the locals run a tire through the gravel in the corners. And PineBluff is actually due-west from Madison. Southwest will put you at a Triumph dealer in some smaller town out there. Have fun. I think I'll just get up early, go for a bicycle ride, then go to work for a few hours. |

Leisurely ride to Leland??? LMFAO (and the "F" still stands for FREEZING this late in the year, dang it!) FYI, I usually leave around 7:00 and have breakfast out there. Trust me, you will be one of the first riders in Pine Bluff and that is after the breakfast stop. The crowd doesn't start to get good until 11:00. Then it is sport bike eye candy all the way! Tom, just in case you didn't know, it really is spelled "Slimey." Is a derivative of "Limey" which references it's Brit Bike Heritage. However, as Mike indicated, "Slimy" just may be an accurate description of the roads on some routes between Pine Bluff and Leland. So be careful if you are leading a group. They may not be all up to your level of expertise. See ya there if the weather is anywhere near decent. |

Not too sure I'll make the run this year. It's still too far out to make a true weather determination. Gotta love the local weatherman. Here's what I got on the 10 o'clock news last night on 3 local networks: CBS: Partly Sunny 61 ABc: Mostly cloudy 52 NBC: Rain/Snow Mix 44 I wish I was a weatherman |

both the temps and chances for rain have increased yesterday -- if the trend continues, by Sunday it will be about 123 degrees F, and we'll need an Ark |

I wish I was a weatherman Sorry Lake, none of us qualify. You have to be a Pathological Liar to get that job. Must admit that it is good acting though. Imagine getting paid the Big Bucks to stand up there and convince folks you know what the future has in store for them. LOL Won't know until Sunday AM if I am going. Wet with a hint of dry later and I will go. Wet all day long and I will be searching for other entertainment options. |
