What kind of primary oil are you guys running? I've been running formula plus, but I'm thinking of switching to bel ray primary lubricant. I know the stator is sensitive to the type of oil, so I don't want to ruin anything because of a different brand. Thanks

The only oil you have to worry about regarding the stator is gear oil (GL-5 specifically IIRC). I also personally run Formula+, but Amsoil 20w-50 motor oil and Harley Syn3 works good too.

Just make sure whatever you get is safe on the clutch, automotive engine oils often have friction reducers to improve fuel economy, but they make the clutch plates lose their grip

I use the formula+, and change it at 10k mile intervals.

In the past I have used 20w50 engine oil, no problems, but it doesn't shift quite as well, and I change that at 3000 to 5000 mile intervals, so it is probably more expensive for a worse solution.

My shifting seems to be getting worse but I shouldn't need to change my primary for a good 2k miles.
