Peter discusses his 7 year affair with his Ulysses. Looks like he still has it and has no intentions of selling it. His reasons exactly mirror my reason for buying one and keeping it. According to the article we are now a cult group. Who would have thought? | ||

In my defense, only one of them runs. The other was totaled in an accident, but I couldn't bear to scrap it so I rebuilt it. Then the crank failed, but I couldn't bear to scrap it, so I have parts to put in it this winter. Um, never mind again. | ||

No grandkids yet. My 16 year old got a kick out of the illuminated scope. So did I. I had to resist the temptation to pull it and put it on a rimfire, but I came to my senses and left it on what might as well be a rimfire but with cheaper ammo. There were some humorous moments with me standing around the house (in a very surburban neighborhood) while a huge flock of starlings descended, where I was trying to figure out if I could line up a shot from the house through a window that would both land safely, and not expose me to a neighbor (who would be absolutely reasonably alarmed to see me leaning out a window with a scoped long gun). Prudence won the day this time, even though at least three of my 6 neighbors response to seeing that would be "did you get any?" followed by "can I try?". | ||

Did anyone catch the "for this Buell focused issue" statement. I subscribe and don't see anything else Buell related in this issue... Could there be some news coming soon? | ||

I noticed the whole "Buell focused issue" thing myself when I read this article online. I was pretty disappointed when I received my issue in the mail and there was no mention of EBR or Buell elsewhere in the issue. Hopefully next month. | ||

I used to shoot at starlings too, every chance I got. Then, a few years ago a starling pair moved into one of the eaves of our commercial building. That male would sit out in the Canadian Red Cherry tree out front and sing. He copies other birds and makes up his own stuff too. He's got an amazing repertoire, whistles, songs, trills, whirrs and clicks. I whistle at him and he returns my riff with a twist of his own. I can't shoot at starlings anymore for fear of killing an avian Mozart!  So these days I go after the Richardsons ground squirrels with a Marauder Pistol setup...  Glad you're enjoying the rifle! |
