Good morning, I have a 2009 Buell XB12SCG. I'm interested in increasing the torque/acceleration. I came across this torque kit from free spirits but, the item is no longer available.
I believe the kit comes with a gasket, primary chain and 34 tooth sprocket. Does anyone know of a company that provides a 34 tooth sprocket and chain for the buell? I also hear you can use the 34 tooth sprocket from a XB9. |

I also hear you can use the 34 tooth sprocket from a XB9. Yes, you can use the crankshaft sprocket and matching primary chain from an XB9 of the same vintage as your XB12. In your case, you need a 2008/2009/2010 sprocket. The earlier ones have different splines and will not work on your crankshaft. I believe the crankshaft bolt is a one-use item so you'll need one of those too. They should still be available at your local HD/Buell dealer or you could try and find a used set on ebay. Quite a few people have done this swap on Uly's to provide better low-speed control for off-roading. They claim no measurable decrease in fuel mileage even at interstate speeds. |

Glad to help. Don't forget gaskets for primary cover, clutch cover, and inspection opening, and a shifter shaft seal. |
