Maybe they just switched the heads. Which on an S1, doesn't really matter, Pammy (CycleRama) or Dan (NRHS) can put you ahead of where the stock heads were no matter what is on there now. Rocker box gasket replacement is a right of passage. Your crank seal will be leaking soon also. And see if all your exhaust header studs are still there. |

It seems to put out alot more oomph than a 1200 sportster i owned a while ago. It has pretty low mileage, just over 12k- amazes me what some people can do to a bike in 12,000 miles. I plan to pull the rocker box covers, cam cover and primary cover this winter to have them powder coated. My old sportster had 60k on it and never had to do much of any engine work to it. I guess im not opposed to pulling the heads, i have a cracked upper motor mount bolt that needs welded any how. |

Keep an eye on that front upper motor mount, you really don't want that to break. And if it has too much play, it can destroy the head. |

Glad to be back on a Buell after a few other brands; originally had a 1998 M2 and now on a 2009 1125R. Kalamazoo, Michigan. (Message edited by scottcentilli on October 19, 2016) |

Welcome Motosquirrel! Tell us a little about your bike history, and what your goals are for your new ride? The XB platform is pretty amazing. I bet 80% of the parts are common between an XB9SX and an XB12X, but the bikes couldn't feel more different. Both excel in their niche. And used bike prices are getting crazy low, I just saw a solid low milage 2006 XB12X with luggage for under $3k. That's KLR money. Anyway, tell us about your goals, or tell us what kind of bike you already have in mind, and we can offer some advice. Some might even be good. |

Hi, I am Mike. I am from SC. I have a Buell XB12R and recently bought a turbo kit for it. I am looking for someone who can either assist me in my build or knows someone who can. I greatly appreciate it. |

Hello.. I am a new rider and I bought a Buell Blast as my starter bike. I bought my bike from another 40+ woman whose husband bought it for her as her starter bike. Been trying to find other owners/riders here in Toronto but I haven't had much luck. Plan to take a refresher course as I haven't taken her out due to nerves and shyness. (Don't mind the mistakes; it's having them in the midst of traffic that worries me some..) Someone at the local bike forum suggested that I check here, even though he thought the forum was 10 years out of date. So glad to have found the site... :0) |

Hi guys, I'm new here and to be honest, I signed up just to look around and lurk a bit. I like checking out different bikes. Well, now I also want to tell members about this ride called Sync The Planet where people will ride all over the world at the SAME TIME. So, I was wondering, if you could tell me where would be a good idea to post this. We would love to have as many people as possible all over the world to participate |

Hey everyone! I always said that when I buy a Harley, it'll be a Buell. So recently a 2000 X1 kinda fell into my lap. Low price, low miles, and possibly a previous owner with a low amount of knowledge about Buells. Just a few things to sort out and make right before I go nuts and do cool stuff to it. Thanks for having me |

hello everyone I am new to the motorcycle world. I happened upon a Buell blast for 300 bucks and it ran so I bought it lol. now after a lot of work and learning how the motor carb and tranny all work ( I am very mechanically inclined) I tore the bike down completely carb too! lol bike runs and shifts great! (even though the previous owners kids were using it as a dirt bike and it shows it) I to a local dealer and had them put new tiresite on the blast yes they are Dunlop only thing that would fit it within 100 miles and I wanted to ride!!! lol inspection done license plates on and 300 moles later the back tire went from a little wear in the center to completely bald and actually wore a hole in one spot at and the tire failed at 80 on the highway. no crash ask me how I didn't crash and I will tell you I have ridden a motorcycle exactly 348 miles in my lifetime. what could possibly cause a tire to do this. I checked tire pressure before riding everyone as a blowout was my biggest fear lol. there may have been warning signs of this impending failure but as a newbie I clearly missed them. have the bike up on a stand at the moment trying to figure out of the rear wheel bearing is bad. all replies are greatly appreciated |
