Every day! Mostly up around Gwinnett during the week. Then on the weekends we go up to the mountains. The 3% Bragging Rights Club (BRAG Chapter out of Stone Mountain HD/Buell) meet every first Monday at the dealer. The last meeting we had, we did an "Urban Assault" from Stone Mountain to Little Five Points for a beer. Lots of fun, Pete knows of some good twisties and sweepers between there and town. This weekend...

Pete's usually there if he doesn't have to work. He lives near by there as well. I've not been yet, as Thursday hasn't been good for me lately. Maybe this week... |

How is the service department at Stone Mountain HD Buell? Do they give outstanding Buell service? I'm almost up to the 1K service on my X1 and need to take it somewhere. I'm in Jacksonville, AL and the "local" HD shop knows what a Buell is, but that's about all. I want somebody who KNOWS how to work on these wonderful bikes. I'm looking in Birmingham and also Chattanooga for a reputable Buell service center. Thanks for any help. Bob |

Only MTC I've had done at SMHD is they put a new tire on my rim for them. I took the rim to them because that's just how I am. They have several Factory Trained on Buell certificates around the shop. Guys were very nice and charged 1/2 hour(35$) for mounting and balancing the tire. I'm with Spengy....get a service manual. If you have any questions put it on a post and we'll help you out to the best of our abilities |

Bad news about last night. Three guys were riding down East Ponce, when a car pulled out in front of them. One dead. One in the hospital. One released last night. Don't know anymore details.

Glitch, that's horrible. Damn cagers!!!. Were you there? What happened? One car took out three riders? I don't consider myself paranoid but I avoid riding in Atlanta for that exact reason. The north georgia mountain roads are awesome but there are just too many idiots in the city of Atlanta. |

I have a Yamaha and a Suzuki in service now. After 48,000+ miles I thought the S1 should be retired from daily use. |

Mac, if I may interject, the mountains I believe are more dangerous than the city. I have seen many more accidents up there than here. |

Jmartz, I here what your're saying but I believe most of the accidents in the mountains are due to rider error, over cooking it into a corner, etc. In the city, where you have a ton of idiots in SUV's, talking on Cell Phone's, I'm a lot less comfortable. In the mountains, at least I feel in control and any accident will be of my doing and not someone else's. If I ride within my limits, I don't have to worry about someone pulling out in front of me on every corner. That's the big difference IMO. |

Which is more dangerous depends on how you ride where. You can't ride in the city how you ride in the mountains. Traffic in the city requires more looking out for things coming your way, riding in the mountains requires more setting up for things coming your way. |

Glitch, I haven't been out on a real ride in some time now. Soon I hope to have tires, I just haven't had time to check out the Maxxis tires and others ( kids have been sick, people cuttin' gas lines etc. etc). I like the 208's, but I need better wear. Sorry to get off the subject fella's. My prayers are going out for the fallen riders. |

I agree with the mountain assessment of rider self infliction. The city can be fun also with the right bike. My new thing is to accelerate hard in protected areas of the freeway systems like on/off ramps and access roads. A lot more fun on a bike that's dumping 150 HP to the ground at 12,000 rpm. |

1320, I'm sure we could ride up there to see the races. I don't know how involved SMHD would be with the group riding up there though. I'll bring it up on Monday. Rodi, doubt I'll make it tonight. |

Cool. Also, something to maybe check into. The sponsors usually get a boatload of comp tickets and maybe they would spread some around within the group. Every little bit helps! |

>They're not only in Atlanta my friend! Ran into one up on Mt. Cheaha this past weekend (well not me, but the guy in front of me went down trying to avoid it). Everybody should be required to ride a motorcycle for the first two years of driving. That way when they do get into a car, EVERYONE will know what it's like to drive respectfully. Just my $0.02 worth. |
