I picked up a '96 S2T last week, #226 It's rough and has been in a small accident. It's missing some parts and has broken parts. If I wasn't going to buy it, it was probably gong to get cut up for a chopper. Notice the rear turn signals. They wrecked the vents to run the wires thru. All the bodywork bolts are gone. The tank hold down is gone. I think I got the stay straightened out. I need the left mirror mount, post to weld back on. Parts list faring windshield mirrors dash (I may make my own) rebuild the forks front isolator both lowers shock all but the right front screens Rear tire turn signals bag mounts rear fender belt guards belt brakes return throttle cable levers decals paint Will a s3 faring work on a S2? If anybody has parts they are will to part with let me know. I have a small home machine shop if you would want to trade work for parts. Matt

Will a s3 faring work on a S2? No, not without welding some lugs on the head tube. Two WAY different animals... It's good to see that you got the saddlebags, but I don't see the saddlebag bracket. The only part I have that could be useful that jumps to mind is a saddlebag lid. It's the right color, but you already got the lids with the bags. Maybe something else will come to mind... WTF is that front wheel? It's certainly not a Buell wheel... Glad to see you got an S2 (of some flavor), and can't wait to see what you do with it! 1313 |

It looks to me like a Marchesini/Brembo production front wheel and rotor from a Ducati, and the rotor is thus undersized for the caliper, which could eventually become an issue, since part of the pads are not contacting or getting worn (320mm Duc rotor vs 340mm Buell rotor). I say that because it looks to have the same pattern as OEM, but 6 rotor bolts instead of 5. |

If it is a 5 bolt rotor, then the wheel is likely stock, but the rotor is likely still a Brembo from a different model Ducati, as it is definitely undersized. (Message edited by phelan on September 04, 2016) |

The lowers and the bag mounts are going to be the harder parts to find. I have a line on lowers. Are the windshields different too from the s2 to the s3? I'm just going to rebuild the forks. It's not that hard and I have the tools to do it. This is going to be my new commuter bike. I'd like something with a little more comfort than the S1 that I've been using for the past 3 years. One thing I did notice is the two bag lids are different. If you look at the body line and the reflector they are in different spots and the line is arced more on one. Must of been hand built molds. Hardest part for the WP forks is finding bushings. |

Are the windshields different too from the s2 to the s3? Affirmative! Must of been hand built molds. Affirmative, as well! If you look at the body line and the reflector they are in different spots and the line is arced more on one. I learned something today! 1313 |

Brother_in_buells - that was one of my first thoughts. Matt, If you want OE decals, this has all the part numbers you'll need. I've seen some pop up recently on eBay. And as a serendipitous FYI (for me and about 11 others) is that the M0742BL.A decal is the same one as the front fairing of the 1998 S3T Defenders, 1313 |

Are the pull and return throttle cables the same? I only have the pull cable, and it seams really long like +6 from a stock xl cable. Matt |

I believe one cable is longer than the other internally, but not the sleeve. Also, don't forget to address that undersized Brembo rotor. |
