Recent development on xb12ss with 31K miles. High rpm stumble will get worse until it feels like running on a single cylinder. Then will suddenly clear up and run fine for a minute then cycle repeats. Codes found: 21, 36, 13. BUT NO CES LIGHT. Fan runs (can hear it when ignition is off). Anyone had this before? Plan on running full test of voltages / Ohms later but figured I see if this was a "known" issue. thanks |

The coil pack could be breaking down under load. If the spark is not there this could cause a rich mixture in the failing cylinder. ( code 13 or O2 rich, lean or no signal) check your plug wires and plugs. |

And the winner (looser) is O2.... 0.53V at any rpm, any temp, all the time. Now to get in there and change the blasted thing. Having a bit of trouble finding one on line (2007 - singe wire O2). For reference, the exhaust valve tests were fine and the fan runs normally..... |

Bosch O2 sensor part # 12013 for about $20.00 is same size as OEM O2 sensor. This meets the same spec as Bosh O2 sensor part # 12014.The 12013 is a lot smaller with the shorter signal wire.12014 signal lead is much to long and can be a pain in the ass. Also 12014 has a interference fit with the fan. |

By the way if you have no cel light the codes your pulling up are historical codes |

Thanks Gabby! I posted that 02 sensor info over in the knowledge vault here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=3842&post=2558786#POST2558786 If you have anything to add to it, like what years it works for, or if you have first hand experience, or anything else, please chime in. (If anyone else does also, like pictures or links to buy or more data on prices, chime in also) |

Update. Got a new o2 in (thanks for the info Gabby, but but the time you posted I had found one from a Harley shop. Extra $15 but oh well). Also put in a set of NGK DCPR9E plugs (gaped 0.035). Still have a random stumble when engine cold and also hot under mild acceleration but the high speed cut-out is gone (even 4th gear at 4100 rpm). But I have developed a nasty after fire. Old plugs were very very black. But not wet. So obviously running rich. Maybe after fire is ECU re-calibrating to a functioning O2. I THINK I got the rear plug seated well. Did not want to over tighten and destroy threads. Felt right, but it is blind so I could not inspect. If problems persist, I guess I'll have to back down to DCPR8Es and replace plug wires. Unless anyone else has seen similar behavior and has other ides. thanks! |

When installing the rear plug with a swivel socket and adapter extension turn counter clockwise first by hand then turn clockwise this helps prevent crosstreading.if in doubt retry . Start only by hand. Then use ratchet. |
