Hello I have an 08 Ulysses with 19000 miles on it, the issue that I'm looking for answers it when the bike is hot and I shut it down say to refuel for an example when I restart it, it won't idle, runs rough, try to accelerate and it dies have to run revs up to keep it going. This goes away after a couple of minutes and returns to normal operation. Any suggestions for what it could be? Absolutely love this bike |

Wonder if it is a fuel pump issue. Is it just when you refuel? When the light is on, or after you have really run it down to vapors? |

Physicaly check the battery conectons. Are there any trouble codes . IAC controls your year bike. Clean the IAC port. |

No trouble codes indicating anything, what is the ICA? It can happen at anytime hot no just refueling that was an example. |

IAC is the Idle Air Control. A 'box' on the throttle body, electrically controlled, that controls your engines idle speed. From your symptoms, it would seem that an engine accessory is getting heat soaked due to lack of airflow while sitting. My first thought would be the engine temp sensor is going wonky or out of calibration, causing the running issues. It may be in a 'prefail' mode, without showing a trouble code. Second thought would be a coil issue, again 'prefail' but heat related. The IAC can be cleaned if it has gotten dirty. Should be a how to somewhere in the archives here. Hope this helps, Dave |
