So after having communication errors on my 2014 RX I dismantle my TFT screen to find that 2 of the 4 screws have the brass anchor broke free from the plastic seating (the two on the button side of the display). I can get communication to return by adding pressure to the pin connection in back of display when on bike. The screws run through the board and on either side seems a contact point do these act as a ground, could I be more moving the board inside rather than having an issue with the connection? |

I've seen some mentions on Facebook with people having similar problems. The OEM of the instrument cluster had poor quality control and some subpar units made it onto 2014 bikes. I've read they can replace the circuitboard in the cluster which is cheaper than getting a replacement $622 dash from EBR. |

I sent mine back to EBR to get the update to the dash and this Comm Error fixed. Got it back and still have the comm error. The dealer said EBR can't fix it yet but they are trying to figure out a solution. $622 for a new dash for a known problem. Ouch |

As a fire sale 1125cr owner, I understand the poor reliability of the 1125 electrical system... I do not think things have changed too much with Eric and his elves. They all have issues, think of it as character. my 96S1? it takes a while to sort out Harley motors too. It took about 36Kmi to sort out. |

Skntpig The dash/ECM update EBR is offering it to update the dash and ECM to the latest software spec the 2016's were built with. It was not intended nor claim to address hardware issues. We are posting updates on the issue as we work through it with the supplier here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1020205516 4976150&set=gm.672675396223338&type=3&theater If you have specific questions email them to tech@ebr.com |
