I have an 09 with close to 40k miles on the clock. I ride year round (Colorado now Oregon) in all weather conditions, and have been for the past few years. Can any of you think of any preventative maintenance items I should consider to make sure I don't end up stranded in a rainstorm in the upcoming months? In other words; are there any parts that should simply be replaced at a given mileage to prevent future "inconveniences". Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks! A- | ||

For a bike that gets wet often I recommend oiling all of the engine's mounting heim joints. It'll keep it running(vibrating) smoother. Keep on hand some wheel bearings and steering head bearings. Mine had a few wiring things that did not like water, but they became obvious when it died a few times. Once fixed the problems never reappeared. Lube your clutch cable and lever. The cable end in the lever can corrode causing the cable to bend rather than pivot, That can cause a cable to break off. DAMHIK. The bottom half of the cable can get water in through the boot over the cable mid adjuster. Watch your primary oil for moisture intrusion if you ride short trips, it can turn from oil into a mocca-shake kind of foamy stuff. Any thing you take apart, like axles or front engine mounts, be sure to put anti-seize on them. That goes for just about any bolt on the Uly, you have steel bolts in aluminum parts. Anti-seize the shaft of the bolts and thread lock the threads. | ||

 I would add the 2010 rear wheel since it has better seals and the obvious benefit of bigger bearings and more of them. | ||
