The last couple days I have started having a small leak below the shift lever. It is about a 2-3" circle of oil. I am attaching pictures. What oil should I add to transmission and where could the leaks be? Thank you.

Odds are its the clutch cover: the same cover you'll have to pull off to check the oil level. That cover came with 2 types of gasket (or 3!!). One is paper, one is rubber, one may also be an o-ring (I honestly can't remember wich is which). If you're going to pull that cover, you might as well change the trans fluid while you're at it-use synthetic-it's the same amount of work and since it takes exactly one quart, you won't have to check the level. Depending on when your riding season ends, you might want to wait until then to do it, as long as it's not pouring out (which I doubt)! Snug up the bolts on the cover (just make sure they are NOT LOOSE!), don't crank down on them, they'll strip. |

I'm in Ohio, so I have until mid November that I stop riding. I'll look at it tonight and let you know. Thanks again! |
